Sturdy
⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5 Stars)“This emery grinder is well-made and sturdy. It performs well, providing a smooth and consistent grind. The build quality feels durable, and it’s easy to use. Could be a bit more powerful, but overall, a reliable tool!”

Not my Grandmother’s grinder
In the photographs, it looked just like my grandmothers which has to be well over 80 years old by now. It got lost during a move, and I was pleased to see I could still get one that looked just like it. To start with, it’s a cheap casting, very rough and unfinished looking. The parts have a very sloppy fit especially the handle where it attaches to the main worm screw. In fact not one part fits without wiggle and slop. I am a machinist and I can fix what doesn’t work properly, but I really shouldn’t have to. I would suggest you look for a popular brand and higher quality grinder. This one is just a few points above junk out of the box. A sad ‘overseas’ attempt to copy the originals once made in USA that are still around and working almost a century later.

Fairly thin metal
I'm comparing this to a $120 meat grinder we also bought here on Amazon, which I admit isn't exactly a fair comparison, so I'm trying to go easy on it. Our previous grinder met an untimely demise due to my stupidity. I saw this one which looked almost exactly the same as our previous based on pictures but it was $50 cheaper. You get what you pay for is usually true but I decided to take a chance. Unfortunately the saying held true. This may be OK for those looking to process small amounts of meat only but we use it to prepare raw food for our dogs, including ground chicken bones. This grinder is made of pretty thin steel so I don't trust it to hold up to grinding chicken bones.

Waste of money
Purchased this meat grinder to grind up our beef roast. The first time I used it the handle broke. It was still able to be used . The second time my husband was loosening the clamps and the entire grinder broke. As you can see this product is cheaply made. It is not a quality product.
