Diesen Bausatz habe ich ca. vor 2 Jahren bestellt und bin leider noch nicht dazu bekommen eine Rezension zu schreiben. Schade auch da dieses Modell des Herstellers Revell wirklich gelungen ist. Wie man es von Revell gewohnt ist, kommt das Schiff in einem Spritzling an und wartet förmlich zusammengebaut zu werden. Da es sich bei diesem Bausatz um die Geschwindigkeitsstufe 5 handelt, sind auch dementsprechend viele winzige Teile dabei. Der Zusammenbau ist für einen geübten Modellbauer aber keine Problem, lediglich die filigranen Arbeiten an den Seilen zum Schluss stellen noch eine Besondere Herausforderung da, da man hier mit Pinzette und dem mitgelieferten Garn ein paar winzige knoten machen muss. In diesem Gerschenkset liegen noch einige kleine Tiegel mit Farbe mit einem kleinen Pinsel sowie ein kleines Fläschchen Revell Conracto Kunstoffkleber bei. Für Anfänger sind zumindest die Farben nicht zu gebrauchen da erstens die Farbe die dabei ist viel zu wenig ist, zweitens sollte man sich bewusst sein das der Rumpf erst richtig toll aussieht wenn man ihn mit Sprühfarbe gleichmäßig behandelt und drittens, die Konsistenz der Farbe im Geschenkset und die Konsistenz der Farbe die man von Revell im Handel bekommt stimmen nicht ganz überein so das Mischen recht schwierig wird ohne gleich Farbverdünnung zu benutzen. Die mitgelieferten Farben sind nur die Basisfarben und man sollte sich drauf einstellen noch mehr optionale Farben kaufen zu müssen um alles Anleitungsgemäß zu lackieren. Außerdem ist es bei bestimmten Baugruppen wie z.B den Schornsteinen nötig, gewisse Farben zu Mischen um den Farbton zu erreichen der in der Anleitung beschrieben ist. Originell sind die Historischen Dokumente die als Nachdruck dem Set beiliegen und einladen etwas in der Geschichte des Luxusliners nachzuschlagen. Trotz allem empfehle ich hier dennoch Wikipedia oder den Literaturhändler eures Vertrauens, wenn ihr euch wirklich informieren möchtet, denn diese Nachdrucke sind doch nur eher als Gimmicks anzusehen. Zum zusammengebauten Modell selber: Es ist recht Groß und recht Detailverliebt. Es macht richtig Spaß es zusammenzubauen und fordert gleichzeitig vom Bastler einiges an Genauigkeit und Geschick. Was man daraus macht obliegt einem selber, und das ist auch gut so. Das Geld ist es allemal wert und ein echter Blickfang!

Incredible looking model and big at 67cms (26") long, but not for the faint-hearted. Not particularly difficult to assemble, but many, many parts lots of which are very delicate so cutters are required rather than twisting them off. This model will take you weeks and months, not hours and days. Be aware that although basic paints and glue are supplied, you will need to buy more to complete the model using all the colours specified in the manual. I also ended up having to buy more white and ochre as what was included wasn't quite enough. The hull red is very thick so I watered it down quite thinly and put it on using lots of coats. Essential also is a set of basic modelling tools - craft knife, sprue cutters, sanding sticks/paper, needle files, masking tape, tweezers, paintbrushes (the supplied one is horrible). Model filler is also useful to get rid of the seam when joining the two halves of the hull together. Because this model is (I believe) from a mould made in the 70s, there is quite a bit of extra plastic (flash) on some of the parts which needs to be trimmed off and sanded. This can be a little tedious. I also found the decks needed a bit of sanding to fit properly. This was no bad thing as this kit is almost like a complete modelling course - the easier bits are at the start, and it gets more tricky and fiddly as you go on but at the same time you're getting better and more confident. This model was my first 'serious' build after getting back into the hobby as an adult, and is no longer up to my own standards as I now use an airbrush to paint but I'm still very pleased with it and learned so much while building it. The paint scheme and rigging in the instructions are not quite correct, but there is a wealth of information online, especially the TRMA (Titanic Research & Modelling Association). The funnel colours in particular are a tricky subject, there is no definitive answer so I just mixed colours to get close to the samples on TRMA and I'm happy. The mix recommended by Revell is too yellow. I used a stretchy knitting elastic called 'Prym Gold Zac' from a sewing shop for the rigging, and coloured it with a black marker before fitting with superglue. Much easier than trying to keep the supplied cotton thread taught. The flags are supposed to be just folded back on themselves but I put a bit of foil in between so I could bend them to look like they're flapping. Unfortunately for me this kit has led to a serious case of advanced modellers syndrome, the main symptoms of which are a depleted bank balance, a house full of modelling stuff, a wife rolling her eyes and the owner of the local model shop holidaying in the Maldives.

This was a great model to build it came in great condition I know it is the titanic but I decided to turn it into the hospital ship Britannic which is titanics lost twin sister ship it sunk killed 30 people after hitting a mine in the of the island of Greece but I love the model it’s definitely worth the money it was fun to just finish it in to days

Mio figlio si è divertito un sacco nel costruirlo, Revell è sicuramente una garanzia...
