We bought the green ones last year and not only did they last the whole year, but other than having marker stains all over them, they are still good to go this year as well. I haven't tried washing them, but only because the kids don't care. if they managed to survive and entire year with my kids, the washing machine would be no problem for them.

My granddaughter was not thrilled with hers, but because it was a unicorn, and she is (now) into grunge... Just pick one you know is like your daughter's taste.
