California Kitchenware Shasta Silicone Ice Cube Trays (Set of 2 trays)

Been using them since 14 to make kale ice cubes to blend in to my protein shake and they work well. Unlike regular size ice cube trays which don't given the thick green liquid made from blending up the kale after blanching. I make enough cubes for a few weeks; one or two thickens the shake in to milkshake consistency. The reason not 5 stars is that they permanently stain from the green color and are floppy so must use two hands to move which I realize comes with the silicone benefits. I have several trays and most never had a smell or quickly lost and there was no odor or taste transfer to the cubes. Takes a bit of cubes to get the cubes out even when rinse bottom but no better option for large cubes that is BPA free.

I don't like peeling the ice away. I am told that's just a Silicone thing and to get used to it. The tray does make nice big ice cubes.It's also much more difficult to move from filling to the freezer. With our old plastic trays, I would fill 4 at the sink, take them to the freezer, very little spill. I tried with these and they just can't be handled like that. I also think that the fact that the top is all even makes it more difficult. The outer ring should be slightly higher.

I was searching for new ice cube trays after the ones I had for about a year were worn out.By worn out I mean they were so broken that some of the cube trays were separated from the main tray.I was pretty tired of having to deal with the water leaking out and pretty much having to break the ice cube tray more and more every time to get my ice out and was looking around for other options.Searching on amazon I saw a few items available and determined that silicone was the way to go. I couldn't break silicone and they should last a long time.Searching further through silicone ice cube trays I saw a variety of novelty trays, and small and large cube trays.Reading the reviews this product was the only one with a video where I could see the actual size relative to other objects. Other reviewers had rated this tray more highly than reviewers of other ice cube trays.I know you might think, "It's just an ice cube tray, find one for a dollar", or "Why are you researching a stupid ice tray?" Ice is very important to me in fact I consider one of the biggest benefits to my workplace is the ice machine they have there.I drink iced coffee every morning and enjoyed iced tea or simply iced water. I don't have an ice maker at home so I needed an ice cube tray that would last daily use for more than the cheap hard plastic trays.This product is exactly what I was looking for in an ice cube tray. I was a bit hesitant to purchase due to the size of the cubes but I love them and being larger they stand up to hot coffee much better than smaller ones.I doubt I will need to replace the ones I own but if I do I will come right back to Amazon for a reorder. These also get recommended to my friends who generally don't care as much as I do about ice.

I like the larger cube size for these trays. Unfortunately, it is not as easy to get the ice out as many claim it to be. I basically need to fold back easy individual slot to get the cube out. You have to carefully transfer the tray to the freezer to keep from spilling water since the long shape easily bends. It works fine for freezing pesto!

I've been looking for nice sized silicone ice trays for a very long time, these fit the bill perfectly. The size of the cubes are nice, I only need one instead of 2 or 3 of the regular sized cubes. There are 2 things that keep me from giving is 5 stars and they're not deal breakers, 1 is that they do take a lil work to get out and 2 it would be nice if there was a small valley between the cubes so the overflow of water runs into the next cube instead of on the counter. Other than that they're a perfect addition to the kitchen.

I have never before purchased or used Silicone Ice Cube trays and had pondered ideas and use for it. It was suggested to me to use real fruits or in some cases crush up the vitamin pills mix with a tiny bit of water and the fruit of choice to get my son to eat his fruits and vegetables. He's a picky eater, my daughter will eat anything you give her. So I was looking for ideas not liking the traditional ice cube trays because it is extremely hard to make pop-sickle sticks with or serve to my children. Brilliantly I found these Ice Trays and wondered if they worked like they should, well they do, better than I would have imagined. My son loves to help me cook and make things and has absolutely fallen in love with these trays. He loves to pop out the ice cubes and enjoy it! This is my first experience with Silicone Ice cube trays but I feel it is absolutely the best, and will purchase from California Kitchenware again in the future. I am with the percentage of people who found the ice cubes difficult at best to remove. The silicone tray itself will need support from the sink to freezer when filled with water.Then, once the water is frozen, the cubes do not 'fall out' as if by magic. They do not 'pop out' as if by magic. Instead, they become one with the tray...as if by magic. I had to run hot water over the bottom of the tray and then try to 'peel' the tray from each individual cube to get them out.I do not enjoy melting them a bit to remove them, as we transfer them to an ice holder and when not fully frozen they can stick to each other in the ice holder.In any case, I would not recommend these trays. To anyone with arthritis or another vexation that prevents nimbleness in your fingers...stay away from these!

Works great and is easy to clean. While the ice cubes are slightly bigger than I like them to be, this isn't something I hold against the product itself as you can clearly see that they're going to be larger ice cubes. It's a bit hard to get them out, but no harder than the typical plastic ice cube model. I actually prefer these to the plastic ones as I feel they're less bulky and are just generally more pleasant to have in a kitchen,
