JIHAQUA Stainless Steel Extensible Snake Hook 39 inch, Retractable Reptile Hook, Pick-up Handling Tool (39 inch)

I got these for my wife and I to reach high-up stuff in the pantry and for getting kids' toys from under the couch, etc. Works well so far.

I bought this for no other reason than I thought it was fun after hearing someone who had one talk about how he was able to catch a rattlesnake for his neighbor with his. I figured I could stick it on the wall for a conversation starter or something. Within a few days a Garter snake got in our house, and while not poisonous my "fun order" turned into a tool to help the snake return to outside. Life is strange and wild!

This is very light weight and the metal seems pretty sturdy. The plastic on the handle is kind of flimsy so I wrapped it with hockey tape and I think it will work great!

The media could not be loaded. Used this product while looking for Burmese Pythons in Florida. One of the hooks had the actual hook part become disconnected almost immediately, but the second one held up fine throughout the trip. Worked quite well for moving venomous Cottonmouths off of the road, but definitely would not hold up for larger snakes. If you need a snake hook for more permanent use I would invest in something sturdier, but in a pinch this product ended up being pretty serviceable, especially for the price.

It feels like you could push something without it retracting. I'm using mine at the grocery store since they started using higher shelves. I like that it retracts down small enough to fit in one of my cloth grocery bags. If you have a fairly big purse, it might fit in that too.My only complaint is that the hook wiggles a little in its mounting. It seems to be in there pretty strongly, so it shouldn't be an issue.Update: I have used it to push and pull items on the grocery store shelves and you can pull a fairly heavy item with it--like a gallon of tea.The retracting mechanism stays where you extend it, so I think you could lift a decent sized snake without more coming out of the handle. Likewise, I think you can push things to some extent without it retracting.I think it will be very helpful in the store.

This was so flimsy. The handle dented when removing it from the package. So disappointed.

I'm using this to reach around and grab the shoulder strap seat belt in my car. I hurt my shoulder and this makes it so easy to grab the seatbelt without having to twist my body.

I have two snakes, one is a Mexican black kingsnake, and the other is a pied ball python. I already had one hook but I needed another so when I searched Amazon for a second hook, I did not realize this hook would be the size that it is, it’s definitely bigger than the first hook that I have but that’s OK. I will be able to use this hook practically for the life of my snakes because they will get bigger so I won’t have to buy another one. It also extends out really long, but right now I don’t have to extend it. I can leave it the size that it is and it does just fine.

Hello, I was looking for a snake hook to help me with looking after my corn snakes after my hip replacement surgery, and I knew this one didn't have a lot of good reviews but I decided to take a chance and give it a try. And I'm so glad that I did!Once I figured out how to extend it (there were no directions on that), I didn't extend it all the way, I just extended it 24 inches-the length I'll need- and I found it to be quite firm and sturdy, and it didn't wobble in any way. The hook didn't shake at all and seemed quite firmly put together. I tested it out and was able to safely pick up my adult corn snake with it.For me, I found it to be a great product and well worth the money. :)

The vendor said 2 lbs load I attempted to use on one application and hook fell out Did not pay very much for product so not worth returning as would spend more money going to post office

Opened and closed it twice and the bottom cap shot off and is absolutely garbage. Do not buy if you want to use it more than once !

After a week or so it began popping apart when trying to extend or close. The 1 star simply because it's exactly what I needed until it broke.
