Italix 'Parson's Essential' Fine ITALIC Fountain Pen

Lovely pen but fine italic nib still much too broad (I have Rotring 0.9 italic nib that is much finer than Italix). Will return the pen but have already ordered an ordinary fine nib pen direct from Mr Pen because the quality of the pen is excellent and tremendous value. If you get the nib selection correct then is excellent value.Update: P J Ford handled the refund effectively and I've also received the second pen: top quality at a reasonable price and writes like a dream. Changed my review to a 5 (from a 4) for the standard nib rather than the italic. Highly recommended.

Value for money is off the scale with this pen. Very nicely finished and a nice weight (coated brass body). Not too heavy and feels nice in the hand un-posted. The nib is truly excellent with good flow and starts first time every time, even after a few days in the laptop bag. The fine italic nib I chose can be used much like a normal fine nib as it is indeed very fine with small variation in line width. Will be buying more from this company.

Beware! When things go wrong this seller is very arrogant. He sent me a faulty pen and when I returne it for repair or replacement it didn't like it and issued a refund. He gets cheap pens made in China and puts a cheap 'Bock German steel nib on it that doesn't work half of the time. This pen is not worth more than £5 don't fall for it.Y.Sarwar

The design and look of this pen is beautiful: unfortunately the Nib on this particular pen wasn't an Italic Nib- or wasn't enough of a 'Chiselled italic'nib for my needs: not enough defined between the thick and thin strokes. so sadly, I had to return this Pen. Great looking with a good feel, and hadit had the Italic Nib- it would have been a perfect pen for my needs. Even better still, had there been a choice of three identical pen bodies with a choice of Nib widths: Fine, Medium, and Broard. For it's price, that would be amazing or even at double the price- what a buy!I know this company make 'ITALIC' Fountain Pens: but they don't have the same body design as this great looking Pen!RWW

Very smart, writes well, easy to fill, good value for money.

The pen arrived OK, was beautifully packed and presented and I have no quarrel whatsoever with the vendor. However, after years of searching for a pen with a fine italic nib, I find this nib broader than those I've used before and the barrel very thick to hold. I bought the recommended (expensive) ink and find it feathers on most services so I am disappointed and have had to go back to a gel pen - not at all the look I was searching for. Sorry.

This is THE best fountain pen I have ever owned. It delivers ink well and the writing experience is sublime. I bought the broad nib, not itallic, and have not found any scratching across the paper.The ink delivery is rapid but that's not a bad thing.The pen for an average sized hand, mine's about 8.5inches, fits beautifully and the weight is reassuringly heavy. Not too heavy for me and the overall finish in piano black laquer, is gorgeous.I am so enamored with this pen that I'm going to buy another but with a medium italic nib.

This fountain pen is an absolute beauty. It writes beautifully with a constant even ink flow. Easily the best fountain I have ever owned and at that price, unbeatable value for money. Add in excellent customer service, and you get a great buying package.
