I bought every sock reviewed as super warm that looked promising. I paid $42 for a pair of bison hair socks - don't follow my lead there. Not worth it.Bought Wigwam heavy duty and 5 others. But these inexpensive socks beat everything else. I ended up buying 12 pair.

Avoid
They only lasted about 15 wears before they got holes. Also, they are very thick and bulky, but not actually very warm. I work outside standing still in temperatures in the 30s and these left my feet feeling frozen to the point of numb within an hour. If someone gave me another pair of these for free, I wouldn't bother using them. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

It's true they are the warmest
Just like they say they were the warmest of the many many many wool socks etc I purchased some at outrageous prices for a single pair. The good quality wool worked better for hiking or long urban walking with no blisters etc. So if you need very warm and not extreme hiking/walking these are the best I found from $100's of dollars and many weeks of research I did.

average warmth, cushion
Slightly about your average sock in warmth and cushion. Nothing special. It is very soft. Very little extra cushion or warmth when walking on hard wood floors or cement basement floors. Based on description of sock i found it lacking.

Bought a number of warm socks. These are under the calf. I don't know what voodoo magic these have, but they work.

I live in the Midwest and needed some warm socks. These are not made for the cold.
