This review is for MEROPS Premium SWEET Hungarian Paprika.The first thing you should know is that the vast majority of paprika you will find here at Amazon and on your grocer's shelf is NOT Hungarian paprika. Sometime it will even say "Hungarian style." But it's not actually Hungarian. Most of the brands I have found and used from here and local my grocer, source their paprika from Spain, Mexico, or the US. In fact, even at my local specialty spice stores it is impossible to find actual Hungarian paprika. Thank goodness for Amazon!Why should you care? For the same reasons you might prefer wines from France, Argentina, and the USA, to wines from China or Pakistan.Hungarian paprika is noticeably superior.And this is the best I've ever used. The fragrance explodes in your nose when you open the package. And the depth of flavor is incredible. So much better than the stuff at your grocery store that it's like they aren't even the same product.It's like the difference between fresh squeezed orange juice and frozen concentrate.This paprika costs significantly more than the stuff at your grocer. But this really IS a case of getting what you pay for. This stuff is amazing and worth every penny.Very highly recommended.

This paprika is so wonderfully flavorful, and according to what I have read, very good for you, too, even compared to other varieties of paprika. I appreciate that it is organic. It is a little pricey, but I love it, and will very likely order more when this is gone.

I used to have paprika from Hungary, and when that ran out, this was recommended by a friend. I was afraid that i would be disappointed and the color and the taste would be dull.But no.The best-tasting sweet paprika with a rich red color that colors all meals wonderfully. I won't buy anything else.

We love spices, and have tried our fair share of paprika. But this brand really makes a fantastic smoked sweet paprika. Smells and tastes absolutely fresh. Love the fact it comes in a pouch, as the tin cans are just not easy to seal. Definitely worth the money!

The flavor is rich and peppery and the aroma is amazing.

It does make a difference, a great flavor for sure. This package is resealable, but would much prefer a bottle, so just put it in a clean spice jar.

I'm not an expert in the area of Hungarian cuisine, I'm just an American who has lived in the city of Budapest, and this paprika...mixed into a bowl of buttered noodles...reminds me of Budapest, at 5 o'clock in the evening. There is something fresh and energetic about it. I've tried many, and this is my all time favorite.The day that I received this packet of Paprika, I transferred all to a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Then I cut the front image from the bag, and taped it to the jar, to be prepared to purchase this exact same brand, as I use all of what I have. I don't leave nice spices in bags, to be ruined by exposure to air and moisture.I recommend this Paprika.

Good flavor. Quality ingredients. I've bought several times and each batch is consistently good.
