Was a gift for a couple of people, one of theminto all things Japanese...they love it and lovely illustrations . Quality paper and nicely enclosed in sleeve for gifting

A gorgeous calendar let down by a simple flaw
I got this for my partner who is an armchair traveller and seems to admire Japan in particular. We both agree that the pictures are stunning artwork, you even get some handy late 2023 planning pages whilst you're waiting for January to kick in. What's not to like?Well, we can overlook the torn and damaged sleeve it comes in, as on Vine you sometimes get customer returns or otherwise soiled goods. What's harder to swallow is one simple design flaw.A long time ago someone who designed calendars figured out a calendar seriously benefits from having a handy wire insert that bends in the middle so that it will latch onto a picture hook or a nail and the calendar can be hung up without any issues and withstand being tugged. With this calendar there is no wire, what you get instead is a hole punched in thin paper. That may suffice in some cases but it limits your options; you need a hook just the right size and almost from the get-go the hole will start get damaged.Our hook we have on our kitchen door is not designed for pictures, which is not an issue with your average calendar but definitely is for this. That means we now have to hunt for a solution and no one wants to do that with a calendar, they just want to hang it up straight away and think about something else.
