Updated 3/19/18: Within 24hrs of writing my review, the seller contacted me to offer a refund or new lighter. I chose the new lighter, and the new, improved (feels sturdier) lighter arrived within 2 days. We somehow managed to misplace it (until tonight), so I can't speak to durability or longevity, but I can say it works beautifully. I should also say that I also discovered (after writing the review & receiving the new lighter) I discovered that the original was left outside by my oldest son. So, my original lighter was ruined by us, not the seller. I advised the seller of this new information & offered to pay for the replacement, but they have gifted it to us. At the end of the day, I will shop with this seller again simply because of their level of customer service.I used this twice to light candles. During the second lighting, it sparked & quit working. (Yes, it's fully charged.)

Used on average 2x per day. Works very well.Edit: Year four, still working. Internal rechargeable battery capacity not significantly reduced.Edit: Year five, still going, some reduction in battery capacity, but still not significant.Edit: Year six, still going, some further reduction in battery capacity, but still not significant. Seems to be visible color change (oxidation?) at the tips across which the arc forms.Edit: Year six-point-five. Finally stopped firing. Unknown whether due to activation-button, arc-tips, or battery. Was a fantastic value: low-cost over a long time

Had such high hopes for this. It worked great initially. Only used to light candles, and not doing that every day. Stopped working after a few weeks, so I charged it. No luck. Changed chargers, made sure light showed it was actively charging. All good there. Still doesn't light. I am returning and going to try a different brand/design without the goose neck as other reviews indicated that may be a point of failure.

This is a great little tool to light candles and propane burners. The thing to light has to fit in between prongs at the tip of the lighter, so you can't necessarily light things that are bigger, like a cigar. It does work with candle wicks or paper or the grill. I've also used it to flambe cooking dishes in the kitchen. I love the fact that it engages quickly every time, unlike a butane lighter where I sometimes have to click 5 or 10 times for the flame to catch. It's also very obvious if the charge runs out--it won't turn on--unlike a butane lighter that still behaves the same way when it's empty. It uses a mini-USB port for charging, so it's easy to reuse.There are a few downsides to this lighter: 1) it has a very short flexible neck. It's only a couple inches long, so it's hard to get into tight places. Most adjustable butane lighters are much longer than this one. 2) It isn't as versatile as a regular lighter because the thing to light has to fit between the probes, so you can't light a cigarette or cigar with it.All in all, I'm very glad I bought this lighter and would buy it again!

OK, lets get some understanding out of the way, these use an electric arc for lighting and have no flame. They are great at igniting natural gar, butane or propane but they are not great for doing so with most other things. Sure you can catch paper on fire (if you can get it between the posts) and it might light a candle if you are careful but it's not ever going to light wood or charcoal on fire.I needed this to light our aging stove that no longer lights on it's own and for that use it has been absolutely fantastic. We even used it to light a candle and it did work though it was a little tricky getting the wick between the posts. Use it for what it's good at and you will love it. Think it's going to light your charcoal BBQ and you will be sadly disappointed.

I will never go back to the aim flames with the lighter fluid again. I have issues with my hands and this is easy on the hands and works awesome. You need to keep it away from kids as I can see how that would be an issue, but other than that this product is awesome. And rechargeable with a micro usb port. Would give it more stars if I could!

The media could not be loaded. This lighter worked great out of the box, however it stopped working after just two months after relativity light use. I am not sure if the two contacts melted or what, however my unit is dead. I cleaned the contacts, made sure the unit was 100% charged... nothing. So if you want a cool lighter that will be dead in 2-months, this is the one for you! 1-Star :(*** UPDATE *** After writing this review, the Customer Support for this company emailed me and then sent me out a replacement lighter free of charge. They certainly went above and beyond what I expected as I had already thrown away the first lighter and figured that was the end of it. Because of that gesture I will bump up the rating to two stars and only time will tell if this particular lighter lasts longer than the first one.

Great concept. When it works it is great. But it needs charging often. Forget 1000 clicks. More like 150. I use it everyday to light 8 candles. The charge lasts maybe 2 weeks. That is inconvenient. I have 2 of these lighters and both are the same.
