Awesome value for money
I bought this for my stereo system at my cabin and wondered if the low price was too good to be true. I am amazed how good this speaker is for the price. It works really well, good sound clarity and really well made. Only gripe is the bass quality is just a little lacking compared to the speakers I'm used to (OK I have Klipsch and Pioneer Andrew Jones in my home media room). But considering the price of this speaker is so much less than my home system ones, it's a very small price to pay in sound quality compared to the price difference to get the Klipsch/Pioneer ones. I like these a lot and would recommend to anyone putting a system together on a limited budget.

Great for our entertainment needs!
This little bugger really pushes the sound, let me tell ya! It's clear, well built - no buzz or distortion. It's loud enough that when we replaced the old speaker, we had to adjust the channel down a little bit. That might suggest that this unit isn't as powerful as the old speaker we had working as a center speaker, but i beg to differ. It was every bit as wonderful and better sounding than the single speaker we replaced. And the cost was good. Is it top quality, something like a Bose? Naw, but i can afford this. I enjoy this speaker set. I am getting very satisfactory sound from my whole system now, with voices that sound like they're in the room with us. It's a great little center channel speaker.

Works great for the price paid
I should start off by saying I bought this item through Amazon's warehouse deals used but in like new condition. When this package first came to my door I couldn't believe the size of the box. I didn't realize how big this speaker actually is, it seems much smaller than it is in real life however it worked fine in my area. One thing I noticed right away was the Acoustic logo was barely hanging on. This is actually a good thing because it looks much better with it off. On the top there were a few scratches and the laminate was coming off on the top let side, as I bought this used I can't deduct stars off of the speaker itself. Connection wise it's fairly simple, just your normal Red and Black push connectors. After that I was setup and on my way. I currently have a 5.1 Pioneer surround system with HDMI connections with Polk left and right speakers and Subwoofer and RCA surrounds. While I would definitely call my setup a budget setup, I feel I know quality sound when I hear it and I would say this produces "okay" quality. To the audiophiles by should ideally have all the same brand of speaker but to me and my budget I can only upgrade according to price vs quality. So, when I can I upgrade my speakers a little at a time every few years. This center channel is my first upgrade (from no center channel) and this is my finding. During movies and games I could hear a bigger sound field compared to having no center channel and the voices are no longer getting lost in with what is happening on-screen. My surround system has Dolby music for casting my playlist to my system and the center channel makes all the difference in the world. The music is cleaner, the vocals are richer, and the sound field is much larger. One thing to note is this speaker doesn't have much bass response at all, so a decent subwoofer with 50Hz (or 80 if your surround system doesn't support 50) is important to round out the sound field. Dialogue sounds great by themselves but the small amount of bass makes all the difference. Overall, for $30 this is a great budget center channel speaker that sounds worlds better than any HTiaB setup out there. Thank you for reading and I hope I helped in your purchasing decision!

Excellent Center Speaker
Now I can hear clear voices and words from movies and tv channels properly, it sounds very clear and loud, though it could do better with more bass, but come on it's a center speaker I didn't buy it for the bass. the sound is very clear and filtered. I highly recommend this.

I tried to give it a chance. Not 4" drivers. Specs are questionable.
OK where do I start? I picked this up to replace the center channel that came with my surround-in-a-box set. The dialog has been lacking, and I just wanted something beefier to bring that content to the front! So I start looking for budget center channels - Has to be something available - I can buy the one that came with my set for pretty cheap on amazon - there has to be something moderately better for not that huge of a price difference right? I have tons of speakers and this is for a TV that doesn't get used that often.. I thought I had found the perfect speaker.. I was wrong! This ain't it. First red flag was that this weighs about the same or maybe even less than my old center channel, which was a single 3" driver and 3/4" tweeter. Two 4" drivers in a 20% larger box - should weigh more right? RIGHT?!? That's weird right? I wanted to look at the drivers so I pulled off the cover, and the drivers seemed a little smallish. I have 4" bookshelves on my desk. I look at 4" drivers for 10+ hours a day. I feel like I know what they look like. These don't seem like 4" drivers. So I measured them. The cones are closer to 3.5" If you measure the entire speaker all the way to outside of the basket. It's almost 4". This isn't a huge deal breaker if it sounds good.. (Spoiler: It doesn't sound good.) The sound: The sound was potentially worse than my old center with a single 3" driver. This was quieter, even though it lists better sensitivity, and has 2x larger drivers. It was also lacking in the low end - SOMEHOW even though the stated frequency response goes quite a bit lower than my old speaker - this sounded thinner! None of this makes any sense.. Either I got a lemon or all of the specs on this listing were measured very creatively. I replaced my original center channel and will be returning this one!

I've cut off the material from the front to see what the drivers looked like. Looks very standard. This speaker is better than I expected for ~$80! It has clean sound at minimum to reasonably high volumes and looks pretty good with the oak vaneer and pretty sturdy build. It has a front mesh that looks better than the speakers themselves, so don't bother cutting it off as I did. I'm happy with this speaker as it'll serve as a center channel in a basic speaker setup that I'm using only because I do not want a soundbar. I'm comfortable that this speaker will last. And it's too bad that the speakers themselves are pretty ugly, because I wanted a grill-off look. Oh well!
