Salmiak Rocks licorice. These licorice bits provide a perfect introduction to salmiak, the salty flavoring favored by the Dutch. The outside licorice layer is wrapped around a soft, tasty salmiak cream. Unless otherwise noted, each order bagged from bulk, boxed and ship from our Sarasota, FL facility. (Aprx 387 Pcs)

One of my favorites
I first became acquainted with salmiak rocks when ordering them for our candy store, which specializes in imported licorice. Along with Muntdrops (Dutch coins) they quickly became my favorites. They're a great introduction to salty European licorice. Unlike some of the super-salty licorice (such as Dubbel Zout), these Salmiak Rocks have just a bit of saltiness, mostly because of the somewhat salty tan-colored cream in the center of each piece. This center is sweetened by molasses and has just a hint of the taste of salmiak salt. ("Salmiak" is short for "sal-ammonia," which is the ingredient that gives many varieties of Dutch licorice their salty flavor.) The outer shell is a strong but sweet chewy black licorice.
