Our clay pots are made from classic and time-tested Terracotta. After we have made them, we dip each pot in a layer of fine red clay particles called terra sigilatta (Italian for "earth seal"). You will see our finger prints where we hold the pot when while dipping. These pots are a deep burnt orange color and over time will develop a unique and attractive patina. Traditional earthenware planters are perfect for outdoor use as the porous nature of the clay allows the plants root system to breath, letting moisture in and out. Each plant pot has a drainage hole for plant health. To use indoors, simply add a glazed saucer or plate to protect your counters from moisture. Earthenware planters will withstand mild winter weather. For the longest lifespan we recommend bringing them indoors during freezing weather.
