Excellent, very reader-friendly, acknowledges limits of his experience, helpful exercises
I would highly recommend this book. I'm a qualified Psychologist, I studied Systemic therapies previously but don't often practice them much now. I heard of IFS and from the reviews, thought this would be a good starting point. I'm really impressed by how easy this is to read (I can struggle to concentrate on reading for long periods). I appreciate how the author acknowledges when his clinical experiences are limited (e.g. he's offered individual therapy to many LGBT+ clients, but rarely seen LGBT+ couples), and I find it helpful that he suggests short exercises every few pages. I'll definitely be reading further books on IFS now.

interesting perspective and approach
I like his view and approach, yet I end the book and wonder if this reflection and self- and couple- work is feasible without a skilled therapist. Many stories of patients, yet few practical self-help recommendations

A deeply impactful, elegantly unpacked life manual. Thank you to Richard for making this framework so easily metabolised. Trailheads and Tormentors. Life changing.

Taking care of your parts and understanding the concept of part work in the context of relationships, is the most liberating and loving thing you can experience for yourself and your relationships.

If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. A must read for couples and individuals who want to live with more inner peace. Having been using the IFS therapeutic method for 6 years, I can tell you it gave me a new life---one in which I thrive in having an intimidate relationship with myself. And everything Richard Schwartz said about an intimate relationship with courageous love is true; I'm lucky to be in a relationship like that right now and it is all you'll ever need in life. Read the book. Find your Self. You'll find that deep well of love that will nurture you, your basement children, and those around you. You are indeed the one you've been waiting for. I hope you'll find your one true love at the end of the tunnel---your Self.

If you are willing to take the time, do the work and be open to explore your most primary relationship - with yourself, this book will change your world. Thank you Richard - what a gift you have given us.
