Works good, goes on super smooth and looks great

I’ve used a few high-heat paints before, but Rust-Oleum’s 248903 is by far the best quality spray paint I’ve found for automotive parts. I used it on my exhaust manifold, and it handled the intense heat like a champ—no peeling, cracking, or fading even after weeks of heavy use. The finish is smooth and professional-looking, with a rich flat black that doesn’t look cheap or flaky. Application was easy, too—the spray came out evenly with no annoying drips or clumps, which can be a problem with lesser brands. What really impressed me is how durable the coating feels. This isn’t just paint; it’s like a tough ceramic shield that keeps my parts protected from heat, oil, and grime. Great paint, used it on my moped for a rusty expansion chamber. Pair this with the high gloss clear coat and you'll have a durable finish. Definitely prep the surface correctly for best results, I used a wire wheel on a drill along with some 80 grit sandpaper for hard to reach areas. Took a before and after picture of my exhaust. 👍👍 (Definitely get the clear coat high temperature to go over this paint if you want a glossy finish)

This paint worked well for my application. Here's some additional notes on what I found: Pros: - The paint applied very well, thoroughly, and easily. I really like that it has the sprays upside down feature to it. It made my job far easier. - I followed the directions and made sure to apply many thin coats versus one thick coat. This made the coverage very uniform. - My job was quite small (a muzzle break for my hunting rifle), but there seems to still be a ton of paint left in the can. Neutral: - Make sure you note that there's a curing process for this paint. 250 degrees for 30 minutes, cool for 30 mins, 400 degrees for 30 minutes, cool for 30 minutes, 600 degrees for 30 minutes, and finally cool for 30 minutes. Alternatively, there are directions for curing parts that can't be removed form your car/bike. Cons: - I didn't see, prior to purchase, any mention of the heating and cooling cycle to cure the paint. The break I'm using can't easily be removed from the rifle, so I'm hoping that the paint will cure with some shooting time at the range. (This could have totally been an oversight on my part). Overall, I am happy with this paint. I have not had the opportunity to test its longevity in my application. Time will tell. I will update this review if I have any negative experiences. I used this on my woods stove pipe and the surfaces of the stove that were showing some rust. I used a wire brush first and then sprayed this on. It worked great, but make sure you have all the windows open on the first burn after using this paint. Also you need a windy day for the first day too.

I applied Rust-Oleum 248903 Automotive High Heat spray to the brake discs of my car. The paint was easy to use and gave a nice, even black matte finish. It dried quickly and adhered well to thoroughly cleaned metal. After several weeks, the treated areas remain rust-free despite exposure to heat, moisture, and road conditions. Rust Oleum hight heat is great for protecting and improving the appearance of brake discs on non-contact surfaces. It resists high temperatures and maintains its protective and aesthetic qualities

I have a gas fireplace and after 20 yrs, on the inner frame around the glass, the paint started to peel. Looked bad, wife mad. So did a lot of looking to try and match the paint color and ended up with this paint. Mistake, this paint is flat and my fireplace has a low/medium smooth finish not flat but not glossy. That is what I would have done different is try to find a low or medium glass instead of flat. When I stripped the paint on that frame I seen the manufacturer did not prep the surface, it had a vary smooth steel finish. I wondered how the original paint did not peel up sooner. I sand blasted the frame with coarse media, so the new paint would stick and sprayed on 2 medium coats. Looks great aside from the vary slight difference in finish and the color is not a perfect match. This paint being flat and the paint on the fireplace having a smooth low gloss finish. The difference is noticeable but does not look bad. Wife happy, life is back to being good.. lol. Of course it is holding up well so far, only a month and handling the heat of the fireplace so far, but I can not comment on longevity or endurance. I'll update this review in 20 yrs.
