This small sound machine can make as much or as little sound as you need. The thunderstorm sound actually feels right and not like a repeating recording. Unless you set the timer for how long it runs there is no lights to keep you up (the tiny light is no bigger than a pin prick so it’s not bad). I’ve had so many sound machines over the years but this on by far is the best. I am tempted to get a 2nd for if i ever need a new one in the future because this one is perfect in every way. It stays charged for a long time as i keep mine on all night and it lasts for days if not weeks on one charge.It is small and easy to pack if you are traveling. This is the best sound machine i’ve ever used by far! i’d give it more stars if i could!

Probably one of the best purchases made for my little one. There's different categories of sounds (she loves the thunderstorms and fan noises) and even a few lullabies which may drive you a little crazy because they just repeat. But! The dimmable lamp is perfect as a nightlight and produces a good, clear sound. Charge lasts about 2-4 nights and it's so easy to throw in the bag for out of town travel. It just uses a USBC to charge so I don't even have to bring a proprietary cord or keep it plugged all the time. This thing is honestly my favorite part of our night routine, it helps set the mood so well.

At home, I like to sleep with a fan on for the white noise it produces. I am a frequent cruiser. On a cruise ship, there are often only 2 outlets in the room and neither of them is close to the bed. For safety and fire prevention, the cruise line prohibits passengers from bringing extension cords or multi-plug outlets of any type. They do, however permit multi-USB ports to be brought on board. I needed a white noise machine that is powered by USB (not plugged in to the wall). It had to be small and compact for travel, yet powerful and loud enough to recreate the white noise of the plug-in fan I use at home. It had to be rechargeable and it had to hold a charge long enough to at least get through the night. This white noise machine has it all. With multiple sound options and volume control, I am able to select the white noise I prefer at the volume that suits me best. This powerful little white noise machine can be very quiet if preferred, yet it has the capability of being even louder than my plug-in fan at home if I wanted it to be. Fortunately with the volume controls, I am able to match the volume level I am accustomed to with my plug-in fan at home. This white noise machine easily fits in one hand and it is light weight, making it very convenient for travel. The charge lasts 1-2 nights before requiring re-charging. It comes with a 4-5 foot USB charging cable. For $25 this white noise machine was a great buy. It is an absolute must-have for cruisers and I highly recommend it!

ProsI like the thunderstorm sound. I like the volumes of how the different sounds are mixed together to make the thunderstorm sound. I tried a different sound machine and the rain sounded too loud and weird. I haven't used any other other sounds besides thunderstorm and sometimes waves so I can't speak to the others.I like the look of this one. I was concerned about using the buttons in the dark but I was easily able to memorize where the ones I need are. The little lights for the different lengths of time for the sound have a slight texture so I can figure out where the top is in the dark. Also, the button in the middle is bigger than the others.I typically set it to go off after 60 minutes but I sometimes forget. I have been using it for about a week and only charged it before the first use. I was concerned about having to remember to charge it but I also didn't want another cord by my nightstand. I'm happy that the charge is lasting nicely. I am presuming that if it's on but not playing the whole night it saves battery.I think it is a good value for the money but I've never used a $100+ sound machine so I can't say for sure.ConsI wish there was a battery level indicator so I will know when it needs to be charged before it's super low.I also wish it remembered the setting I choose so that it goes back to the sound and volume I like every time I turn it on.I wish it had a setting for just rain.Despite these things I would still recommend it because I like falling asleep to the sound of a quiet thunderstorm.I haven't traveled with it but it would probably be fine. If you travel outside the country you might need an adapter to charge it. Some sort of power converter. I live in the us and traveled to the UK with a light box and it needed to be plugged in with more than just an outlet converter.

I bought this for my grandson. He would not fall asleep unless he was in someone's arms. Well, being the firstborn child, dad working full time, and mom needing a break once in a while, I decided to see if he would respond to noises in the background. The volume is wonderful, we could hear it lightly in the background over the baby monitor without drowning out his breathing noise. I really liked that. In addition, it kept him from fussing and crying so much because he went from a full-on wail when someone put him down to just a few whines and whimpers until he heard the noise. We started calling it the magic machine because it magically made our little man fall asleep after being put in his basinet.

I’ve had this for over a year now - still works great, still looks cute, and the charge lasts literally for days. came back to write a 5 star review lol
