to South Africa Travel Adapter

I took this plug together with a UK multiplug adapter to connect more devices to charge or use simultaneously in South Africa. Works perfect. Light enough to cart around, but also sturdy. Not worth paying a fortune at the airport for a SA/UK adapter, or to take more than one of these. Simply take a UK plug lead and off you go. I made sure that the UK Lead I took also had USB A / USB c ports to not have to take my Phone’s adapter.

Worked perfectly for our trip to South Africa, it's not complicated so it's easy to use. Came quick too.

Worked fine

Mains power outlets in South Africa have been, in my experience, 3 round pin 5 amp or 3 round pin 15 amp. Both of these were common in the UK until the country standardised to 3 ‘square’ pin 13 amp. I already had a 13 amp to 5 amp adapter. This completed my needs with a 13 amp to 15 amp adapter. This adapter converts 3 pin US (round earth and two angled flat pins) to 3 round pin 15 amp. NB - it does not change the voltage. The adapter seems to be well made.
