Garos Goods GGSS101-BRK Leather Barber Strop 3in

I'm new to the stropping scene, but from what I can tell, this got the job done. I realize that there are a lot of very pricey stops out there made of superior materials. I didn't want to start out with a top-of-the-line strop, so I took a chance on this one. The hardware seems sturdy and not cheap like i expected. It is rather short compared to others I have seen. It came shipped in a long box (not folded like I have heard about similarly priced strops). The leather doesn't look as glassy smooth as other expensive strops, but after some practice on my fillet knife to get a feel for the technique, it sharpened up my straight razor with minimal effort. I'm sure with some oil and a break-in period, it will be a star performer. I definitely recommend this for the novice stropper or the budget conscious. I gave it a 4 star rating because it is short and the darker portion of the leather with the point gets in the way when you are finishing your stroke.

Just wish I was better at sharpening a straight razor. I couldn't do it 30 years ago, and I can't seem to do it now.

I'm new to stropping so I can't say say too much for how effective this strop is, but I can say that I bought one and returned it right after I got it because the suede side was tore up. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and bought another, it is better but there is still a chewed up line near the bottom of the suede side that will have to be avoided. Also it comes loosely folded into thirds, after a day or two it will lay flat on its own

This is a very nice strop for the money, it seem to be well made and by far better than some of my strop that I spent more money for, also I give it a plus for being a 3" strop, most strop that are 3" would cost you well over a $100.00, it would be even nicer if it had the canvas side. thank you Garos for not charging us like other out there who charge us and arm are a leg.

I am not sure about how good this really is since my razor was recently honed but not to my satisfaction. Also, I'm a rookie at using the strap so there's nothing that I can say bad about the strap, but I can't give it five stars because I don't have enough experience with these razor straps.

I'm no shaving expert so I can;t say how good it is, but it does the job. it came folded, so after a week of use it was finally strauight

i am very pleased with this strop. this is a very good strop. it is just as good as some of the expensive strop but cheaper.
