I guess I didn’t realize this product wasn’t new. The pages are clean but are all yellowed.

We use this in our homeschool when I am looking for a quick and easy writing assignment. I let the kids choose which one they want to do that fits in with the monthly theme. I copy it and off they go. They can write and draw and it doesn't take all afternoon. My 9 year old daughter finds them enjoyable and I like that she is writing her owns thoughts in response to the prompts. Its a win win.

Pretty good writing prompts. Works well with Kinder-3rd. Our kinder child likes doing them (homeschool) and we create projects from the prompts to enhance the writing.

Although it's not really "standards based" you could use these prompts as story starters for personal narratives and tie them into a standard with a little work. I typically have a few available for "work on writing" or will put them in homework packets for easy writing practice. These are especially helpful for students who HATE writing because they're responding to questions and drawing a picture to accompany their writing.

This is a really good book but the activities in this book are too basic for my 2nd graders. I have given this book to the 1st grade teacher and she loves it. I have used some ideas out of it but the projects are too easy for 2nd graders.

I find it a good jumping off point to get my reluctant writers to begin writing. Writing is a real struggle, and with these prompts, my students feel good as they rewrite and add details to the story starters.

My son doesn't like writing. I bought this book for our homeschool curriculum for kindergarten and he loves it! He asks me everyday if he gets to write in this book again. I also enjoy that everything is already written out for me. It's hard to think of writing prompts for days and days on end!

Good ideas for writing when you run out of ideas. It became the next step after a graphic organizer and the students enjoyed drawing their stories.
