If you’re trapping crazy cats, don’t use this trap.When the trap is triggered if the cat touches the door before it shuts it can pushed open from the inside and your cat escapes.

Used this to trap a feral tom but it battered it's way out of the trap.A combination of poor design and poor manufacture means that the door lock fails under moderate force applied from the inside. The gauge of the wire mesh is insufficient, especially where the door latch is mounted directly to the mesh. Also, the assembly relies on a few staples to hold it all together. These will fail if subjected to force, potentially allowing a captive animal to escape. The trip plate seems sensitive enough but my target animal is able to eat all of the bait from the plate and lick it clean without tripping the doors. Setting the trap single handed is difficult.I have now added a bent wire hook to hold the doors while setting the trap, reinforced the assembly where the door hinges mount, fired stapes into every location where the mesh meets the wood, added wire straps under the wood (just in case the staples fail), glued the wooden feet to the wooden floor (those staples were just not good enough) and set the trap with one door wired shut, allowing the bait to be positioned with a better chance of the animal tripping the trap (thanks to the helpful online TNR videos). Also, hang onto the flimsy packaging. This can be cut and taped to create a sleeve (TNR videos recommend a blanket).This is a lot of faffing about just to catch a cat but maybe tonight it will be fourth time lucky, for me not the cat.

Had to pay loads of extra postage because of its size otherwise a good trap.

La jaula trampa es de excelente calidad y funciona muy bien. Lo que veo es que la madera debería de ser barnizada o substituida por otro material pues hace la jaula pesada y a la hora de lavarla tampoco lo facilita. La uso para capturar gatos, esterilizarlos y luego soltarlos (metodo CER) y a veces defecan en la jaula, por eso opino que en lugar de la madera pudiera ser mas conveniente lamina de metal? Por lo demas no tengo ninguna queja de la jaula

Grundsätzlich ist dies eine gute und solide Falle. Um so mehr hat es mich gewundert, dass sie schon deutlich verbogen bei mir ankam. Eine Seite der Falle war eingdrückt, so dass sich eine der beiden Türen nicht mehr bewegen ließ. Mit Hilfe eines Hammers und eines dünnen Stemmeisens ließ sich die Falle wieder einigermassen gerade biegen, so dass sie jetzt einwandfrei benutzbar ist. Was nicht benutzbar ist, ist der unmögliche Auslösemechnismus, den schon andere Rezensenten bemängelt haben. Ich habe keine Ahnung, wer sich so einen Unfug ausdenkt. Wenn man nur ganz leicht an der Falle wackelt, fällt sie sofort von alleine zu, d.h. ein Tier, das nur leicht von aussen dagegen stößt, würde die Falle sofort auslösen - ohne sie je betreten zu haben. Ich bezweifele, dass es ein etwas grösseres Tier (z.B. ein Kater) überhaupt bis zur Wippe in die Falle schaffen würde, ohne dass ihm die Tür durch dei Erschütterung der Falle schon vorher auf den Hintern fällt. Nach etwas Schweißen, um die Auflagefläche der Auslösestange zu vergrößern, war auch das Problem gelöst. Fazit: Wenn man bereit ist, ca. 1 Std. Bastelarbeit zu investieren hat man hinterher eine durchaus gute Falle. Ohne Basteln ist sie unbrauchbar. Einen Extra-Stern gibt es für den Holzboden, der die Falle tatsächlich für jedes Tier angenehmer zu betreten macht, als der übliche Drahtboden.
