A tanto blade is quintessential Japanese. The tanto is a dagger and generally has a single or double edged blade. The tanto was designed primarily as a stabbing weapon, but the edge can be used for slashing as well. Our Kenta Damascus Steel Tanto Tactical Folder is a modern, western version of the tanto with a tactical twist. Of course, it is also a folder with a liner lock. Most tanto knives are fixed blade daggers with a long blade. We took the classic style and added features which make it better for the modern user. Respecting the Japanese form of the tanto, we named this knife Kenta. Kenta is derived from Ken, meaning "healthy, strong" and Ta, meaning "thick, big". You will understand when you pick up this knife. The large micarta handle was ergonomically designed with finger grooves for each of your fingers. This provides superior control of the knife, even while wearing gloves. The Damascus steel blade is almost 3mm thick and is 3.75" long. The perfect sized blade for an EDC knife. Top serrations offer a robust cutting surface for rope or small branches. Made of 1095 and 15n20 steels, the high carbon content of 1095 gives this knife an extremely sharp and durable edge and makes it the ideal choice for a EDC folding knife. The compact blade and large handle gives the user exceptional control. The Kenta can be carried in your pocket with the pocket clip or with the included leather sheath with belt loop. ABOUT FORSETI STEEL The secret to forging authentic Damascus steel knives has long been lost, but Forseti Steel stays as true to the tradition as they can by commissioning smiths with Damascus ancestry to hand-make their knives.
