Perfect Super Heavy Duty Industrial Strength Hardened Steel Bolt Cutters
For me this is the absolute best super heavy duty hardened metal bolt cutter for my annual cutting of the lock. Seems almost every winter a lock gets jammed up after an ice storm. This year I put the wrong key in working after dark and it would not come out. I am so old now I no longer have the strength to cut hardened steel locks with my unbranded, red 2 foot bolt cutters bought years ago at a local hardware store. On this Master lock they were hard enough to etch a small indentation in the lock but I no longer have the strength in my arms to push the handles together to finish the cut. All I could do was cut part of the key off. No hardware store I could find carried very large size bolt cutters to cut hardened steel with the amount of multiplied force I need. On Amazon there were 2 brands I found wanting $200 or more then there was this China brand for $100. I found the company's web site and they are a tool company making a full and very diversified line of many many types of tools. They specifically describe this 42 inch, 6.61 pound cutter as a lock cutter. I found one seller fulfilled by Amazon so I could get a no questions asked return/refund if it did not work. It worked perfect. It is so heavy I had to first open the cutting blades wide, position the cutting head with the lock between the blades, prop one handle against my bent legs then with both hands and all my strength, pull down on the other handle. Took 2 cuts to actually be able to get the lock to fall out of the gate latch. The cutting did not chip the cutting blades. It just polished them. So after this year's annual cutting of the lock went so well, I will keep these bolt cutters well covered so they don't get dusty or tarnished and be ready for next year's annual cutting of the lock knowing I have cutters that multiply my weakened strength enough to cut hardened steel.

The Mother of All Bolt Cutters !
These are truly awesome bolt cutters--- they are big and very powerful. They will snap off a padlock like a hot knife will slice thru a stick of butter.I carry mine in a truck to remove frozen locks from our ranch gates, --among other uses. No longer do I need a portable grinder or a saw.... this does the job in seconds !

Intended for standard combo lock cutting - works but dented
This was purchased for the specific purpose of high-school combination lock (standard locker, MasterLock turn knob, 3-number combo, run-of-the-mill standard combo lock). One of the locker was occupied by someone who is longer there so the lock had to be cut.Did it cut the lock? Yes, it did. Was it "easy?" No, it required some elbow grease but it was do-able by a single person with reasonable bicep and some handyman-level strength. The lock was cut in about 15 seconds. The first 10 seconds was just to get the metal (of the cutter) to bite into the lock to create this groove. Once grooved, the strength of the steel shackle will give due to malformation of the original metal shape which will give away the original strength. Anyway, after the first 10 seconds of "much harder" work trying to squeeze the cutter blade onto the Combo lock, the last 5 seconds were very "easy" by relative comparison. It was as if the lock's metal had turned into butter.Regardless of all that mumbo jumbo. Did it cut the lock? Yes it did. Did the cutter survive? Yes--BUT there's a small dent in the cutter head/blade. Can it work again? I suppose so--as I don't have another lock that I need to cut off so I won't know until I try. However, the dent is not a huge. It is visible, yes, and a small indentation can be easily felt.So... there you have it. The cutter will probably work several times and the cutter blade itself will probably then become damaged. (I just don't know how many cuts will render this cutter useless). Might be 10 or 15 locks, might be 20. Or might be just the 2 or 3 locks and that's it. The job got done, nonetheless. So for the cost of the bolt cutter VS. the cost to rip open an entire locker assembly...... ?? Yes, worth it. Pay $30 bucks and solve the problem (even if the bolt cutter is a ONE-TIME use gadget). It was a problem that was solved by $30 bucks in the worst-worst case scenario. Nothing lasts forever, anyway.Hope this helps! Again, don't buy this and thinking it will last forever and cut 5000 locks day after day. No, buy it to solve a problem that might cost you hundreds of dollars and spend the $30 to cut off that lock and done. Thanks!!

Just Right for Quick Cut Hide
The perfect size for the job, large enough to quickly cut off a customer’s lock in a single snip, and small enough to stash in a backpack for discrete transport to the next job-site. This enables me to maintain my professional appearance without arousing suspicion. Any pro lock jockey like myself will tell you that open carrying a bolt cutter will lead to wide array of allegations that will hurt future business endeavors.

OK quality
An expensive tool for something that we thought we would only use in an emergency. We have ended up using it several times surprisingly. The first time we used it , we broke the tip off one of the blade. The blades have also become rusted. I hate to say they don't make them like they used to, but I have seen fifty year old bolt cutters that are in better condition than ours are.
