The little big book on weaning. What an adorable book! I am a new mother and my husband is a psychologist and one of the many emotional decisions parents have to make early on is when to wean their child. Once that decision is made, the process can be exasperating. This short book, filled with beautiful illustrations, wonderful colors and an adorable, no pressure approach to helping both children and parents say Bye-Bye to Nah-Nahs is a wonderful addition to our home. We cannot recommend it enough.

Great for after weaning
I originally wasnt crazy about this book (had beautiful illustrations though), but now that we are weaned my 3 year old loves reading it. It’s great for after weaning.

Not great to help a child understand weaning
It’s a cute enough book but not good for helping with weaning. It is many languages which again I love the concept but misses the mark when trying to teach a toddler something. Weaning is a really hard thing for most toddlers so they need something to help them understand what it’s going to be like and how it’s goong to happen. Saying “bye bye Nah nahs” in multiple languages doesn’t do that. Loving Comfort is much better if you looking to help your toddler wean.

Wonderful, supportive, little gem of book
We bought this sweet book at the beginning of our weaning process and we loved it. It absolutely helped us along and made the transition gentler. Weaning can be a big deal and having a book to support you really makes it more special. Beautifully written with lovely illustrations.

No content
This book was damaged when I received it but I did run through it to see if I wanted to replace it and it was full of beautiful illustrations yet no content. I can’t see this helping with the weaning process.

Great resource and book for weaning my 2 year old. Good messaging, if weak artwork
Ok: first off, this book WORKS. I was really worried that my 2 year old would really have difficulty weaning, but the emotional messaging in this book is spot on. She understands the journey from infant to a "big kid," and I feel she relates to the sorrow that the little kids feel when they're expressing their sadness over missing the boobies (you can swap out whatever you use for breasts in place of "nah-nahs.") Heck, she even kisses and hugs the book to help comfort the children, and I love that it follows the same four children through the various stages. Bonus! Very globally minded with a red headed little white boy, a Hawaiian Japanese girl, a Latina spanish speaking girl, and a little African french speaking boy.So, she loves reading it, and within a week, boom, she understands that she too has had to say "bye bye to boobies." All this is great.HOWEVER. However. As an illustrator/artist myself, the art pains me. It's very crude, very folk-art. The artist attempts some really difficult angles, and the paint is just slapped on. Sometimes when my daughter asks me what something is (ie, is that squirrel?) I'm not really sure! It's like a gray smudge in a tree, so sure. Let's go with squirrel. So, the art is rudimentary, and the techniques crude. This being said, I'm probably over-critical of most children's books and animation out there because that's what I do myself. #artistparentproblemsBut in the end, my daughter loves it, and the book did the job beautifully, so would recommend to other moms looking to teach their little ones about saying bye bye to the boobies. Don't let my art snobbery get in the way of a good thing :)

Not enough content
I have read this to my son but it doesn't seem to phase him. I dont think there is enough content in the book itself , however it is a nice book.
