Good idea for backup
I have never used a storage on a little memory stick before. I think I am enjoying the ease. The stick is small and not cumbersome, easy to grab and put in my purse. Downloading was not a problem since I have more than enough space for photos and documents. I am hooked on the ease and functionality. Yes, I believe this would make a great gift.

SCAM! Poor data transfer speeds - Corrupt Drive Error
Tried moving 50gb from an SSD and this thumb drive began to almost immediately overheat and struggled with speeds from 0KB/s with quick but very short lived spikes to 20MB/s - time remaining would go from 15 minutes to 2 hours after my first attempt. Sadly, after attempting smaller 1-2 GB file transfers the drive would become unstable and the transferred files would disappear.

Perfect. Scanned was virus free and not partitioned.

DO NOT PURCHASE
Unfortunately I bought two of these and both did not work. I expected them to be slow for the cheap price, but transfers took hours instead of mins and the files would not exist on the device after the long wait. Seriously? Waiting 6hrs and the result is empty directories? On 2 of these? I tried re-initializing, multiple file formats (exFAT, EXT4), rsync, copy, and using different computers - total bust. So frustrated after wasting days I threw them out. I then bought the SSK 2TB External USB SSD and that worked great.

surprised
i'm expecting it to break any moment based on the reviews and the value. but so far its worked like it should. Then again I only transfer a few 2-3 movies from a desktop to a pc, not close to maximizing the capacity. but its worked...Its the smallest 2tb drive i've ever used and it works...like a thumb drive! and its tiny.!

Read/write speeds are WAY too slow
I should have read the other reviews!It averaged about 15 MBps for me… it took over 24 hrs to to transfer i terabyte of files on to it.USB 3.0 should 600 MBps. So it’s not just a little slow… it’s 20x slower than it should be. This would have been great 20 years ago.by today’s standards it is complete junk.

Has a lot of errors while writing/reading data
Very disapointed. Large capacity, but in fact cannot be used.

Lack of performance.
One of the slowest avg write speeds of any usb 3.0 flash drive I’ve purchased. Considering the size and capacity, Still has value at this price.
