Tests nearly every cable needed in Live sound/Theatre
Cable tester that does as it says. I brought it to use on a short tour and it survived and is now part of my main tool kit when working on live events/theater. It has survived a fair amount of use and a few drops along the way. I would say it stands up against the other more expensive cable testers but with the added bonus of being able to test nearly all cables I use regularly.Something potential buyers might find useful to know is that you CAN use it to test adapters for example XLR to MONO or TRS Jack! It will also show you how those adapters have been wired by showing on the lights which pins have been bridged! The one slight annoyance Iv found is the battery holder in the back. Occasionally after being in the tool kit or put down maybe too hard on to a desk the batteries come out just enough to not turn on. This is easily sorted by unscrewing the back plate and pushing them back in. I plan on attaching a small piece of foam or possibly wood to the inside of the cover to keep them in but that's just me! In all honestly its hasn't happened that much or become that much of a problem as I haven't done it yet!.

Very useful, lots of different connectors supported
Useful and very important, especially for some audio equipment (e.g. external audio cards) as trying to use a cable that has been wired up wrong (e.g. if you've soldered your own XLR cables) can damage the equipment so it's a good idea to test it first using this device. Also if you've accumulated a ton of cables over the years and want to figure out which ones you should keep and chuck away without going to the trouble of actually testing them all with speakers, hard drives, etc., it's quicker to just plug them into this and the lights should tell you if the cable is still functional.

All good so far
Only had this tester for a short time, used it for 1/4" TRS and XLR - worked fine. I like the fact that it tests all 3 wires at the same time rather than having to test eac separately by turning a dial as on some other models. The LEDs provide a clear indication of what is connect to what. As commented elsewhere the instructions supplied are minimal but I've coped so far.

Excellent!
Excellent cable tester, very pleased so far. The device seems to be very well made and substantial. Shame there doesn't seem to be an optional carry case available (how about it Pyle?). Thoroughly recommended!

Flexible and reliable (other than the 1/8 jacks)
I've been using one of these for three years now (had to replace the first one after it got damaged, bought the second two years ago). Reliably tests all kinds of cables and has a helpful intermittence function (like the CT100 and similar). If you've used a CT100 but need additional connections, this is the tester for you.A few flaws I've noticed, however:1. The pin selection switch can get dirty over time and fail to work - I'd advise keeping this in a case if you have a risk of it getting dirty. This is easily fixed with switch cleaner but would be nice if it didn't happen to start with.2. The 1/8 jacks don't give you a solid connection and will show as intermittent even with brand new cables. I've got into the habit of using a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter and just testing on the 1/4 jacks instead, which isn't ideal.

Forget it
Seemed used or so badly made that some of the wording on the device already scrubbed. Complicated. Basic instruction on box only. Cheap and shoddy. Still waiting for my money back.

Good, a bit complicated to fathom at the start, but works very well.
Great for a home studio, I was able to test about 40 cables and throw away two. I’ve been having a persistent fault in the studio with noise artefacts, all gone now I’ve thrown away the dodgy cables!
