The seller's communication is good.
So the story here is I bought two tubes from Fosi Audio, at the same time bought another two from one of their competitors. I originally thought ones from Fosi Audio are not genuine by comparing them PURELY by their appearance. The sound quality of them is at the same level. However, further communication from Fosi Audio with detailed photos persuaded me that they are all genuine NOS. 5 stars for the seller's patient communication.

seem okay; not as loud as the 6J1 it replaced
Made in the USA? really?? haha. okay then...Well, these are loudness-wise "quieter" than the 6j1s they replaced, and honestly, I'm not sure if they are any better or were worth the cost to 'upgrade'. The quality is nearly identical, if only slightly better in terms of the uniformity of the internals, visually speaking.These sound fine though. The upper end of frequencies feel dampened, but this allows the mid range to punch through, bringing out some stereo spatial detailing. Bass is very warm and present, but I can't get much sharp kick out of it either.Of course, my interpretation of the sound is also in part the preamp I'm using these tubes with, which itself likes to add a lot of bass already.So the only major difference I can notice between my old tubes is that these new ones are quieter and they a bit better looking quality wise (luck of the draw?). I can't tell if they sound any better, but I've also had zero issues with them. No noise, no unpleasant hum, they sound okay as far as I can tell, and the sound from my tube preamp is definitely warmer.I'm going to use these until they burn out, and then go back to using the stock ones. I bought these out of curiosity more than anything, and got what I should have expected -- little difference if any.

Great upgrade for Fosi X2
Transforms the Fosi X2 phono preamp if yours did not come with these in the first place. Lows are much clearer and sound is richer overall. Good price too.
