Diamine - Shimmering Fountain Pen Ink, Golden Sands 50ml

So pretty! I bought a beautiful italic pen and this ink to do the calligraphy on wedding invitations. A lovely antique brown with a subtle shimmer - just the right look. You have to give the ink a good shake before loading your pen to distribute the shimmer well, but it then writes like a dream. Note to the wise - flush your pen out after use!!

Last long, writes nicely and does require frequent cleaning of the fountain pen before refilling. Works well with medium nibs.

Diamine inks are great, would highly recommend as they produce well flowing, highly pigmented inks. This shimmering ink is gorgeous, ideal for calligraphy and letter writing but you if you are using an ink well, you might need to shake the well/bottle regularly as I find the glitter settles to the bottom quite quickly and so you lose the shimmering effect.

This is a beautiful ink shimmering ink in "Purple Pazzazz". You have to shake the bottle REALLY well every time you use it, as the gold glittery bits settle on the bottom of the bottle. When dried, the ink has a gold sheen to it. I therefore think that this ink would be best used in a medium-nib pen or even a broad nib, to lay down more ink to get the benefit of seeing the gold sheen. Would recommend.

Yes, this ink is a little expensive but it is a good quality ink. It covers well and the choice of application (to paper) is limited by the pen nib or even brush. The “shimmer” is quite subtle and you may have to use a bit of elbow-work (shake the bottle, closed obviously) to get the glitter into suspension. There is a choice of individual shades to choose from. The ink is ideal for highlighting the lines and swirls of your pen (or brush).

The color is pretty good, but like any other particle based ink, the shimmer dust will block the pen nibble as the ink on it dries, within 24h of parking it. With a couple of tricks, it does work beautifully well overlaying gold artworks all around the letter sheet. For the tricks, One must always keep an ink well with plain water to re wet the nibbles just before using the pen anew. This is quite the common case with other inks like octopus/squid ink base or a soot base ink. Wet and exercise the nibble until a normal flow before start the writting. Secondly, 🎵Shake shake shake, shake shake shake, shake your pen, shake your peeeen!🎵 This must be a constant and is most needed to keep a good spread of the shimmer/dust. Just as if painting with a spray can. The end pleasure is only as great as the effort to atain it. Small efforts, simply contempts.

this is a beautiful ink which is lovely and shimmery. i used it in a fine nib that writes dry and I kept having to shake the pen to keep the ink flowing. had i realised it will probably be better in a broader nibbed pen with a wetter ink flow or a good old fashioned dip pen. it will be lovely for illuminated lettering and would add a lovely effect if used as a drawing ink or with a paint brush. i have given 5 stars because I cannot fault the ink. inside the box there is a guide sheet that if i had read it before using the ink i would have used a pen more suited to the ink

ESTA TINTA ES GRIS MUUUUY OSCURO, CASI NEGRO, CON DESTELLOS PLATEADOS. ANTES DE RELLENAR LA PLUMA ESTILOGRAFICA CON ELLA HAY QUE AGITARLA MUY BIEN PARA QUE LA PURPURINA SE DISTRIBUYA CORRECTAMENTE. ES UN COLOR MUY ELEGANTE.

it is a truly lovely color, much better than its name would suggest. The shimmer is satisfying, not overwhelming. I'm happy with it.

Sehr schöne Tinte. Ich nehme sie her, wenn ich für besondere Leute auf gutem Papier einen richtigen Brief mit dem Füllfederhalter schreiben will. Sie ist immer gut zu sehen, läuft auch gut aus dem Füller. Wenn die Tinte getrocknet ist, sieht man die Schrift dezent glitzern. Eben nicht so auffällig, aber dadurch in der Wirkung wirklich besonders. Der Schimmer-Effekt wird auch nicht verwischt. Anfangs habe ich befürchtet, die Schimmer-Partikel könnten den Federhalter verstopfen, aber dem ist nicht so, ich konnte also auch getrost meinen teuren Halter damit auffüllen... Würde ich immer wieder kaufen und gern noch andere Farben ausprobieren. Bis jetzt habe ich drei davon gekauft und alle sind einfach zauberhaft !

INK - amazing to the point where you question whether to gift it as a present or keep it to yourself - very pleasant shimmer, not tacky SELLER - very pleasant - it said that the tracking is not available & my package took forever to reach the destination (Black Friday, Xmas, New Year's, plus post office in the country of my friend where I ordered this to just really sucks. So basically the seller didn't have to provide me with any tracking details. Yet the seller was very nice & tried troubleshooting it with me & replied to my messages quickly, politely. I don't have an ending to how it could have been reconciled with the seller because today my friend where I ordered it to, finally got the package, so I informed the seller that it's all resolved. It's a story with a happy ending :-) DELIVERY - super slow but not because of the seller - because of the post office in the end country. OVERALL highly recommended!
