Review: Know why things happen, understand how others frame things to influence your emotions - John Mearsheimer is one of the best. This book covers realism in the International Relations model and, even if you prefer the idealism method, this is how the main actors impose their authority and always have. Understanding this will allow you to see the various conflicts ongoing from a clear perspective - and allow you to understand how media, NGOs, losing parties and Governments frame things from an idealistic “ally vs enemy vs ideology vs emotion” perspective. Review: How states really works - The best book , true & honest book about how states & politics really works. Highly recommended!

the book that persuaded me to study Geopolitics
I now study Geopolitics at University because of this book. Absolutely fascinating insight into the world of political decisions. The theory in a nutshell is this: Countries all work for their own benefit for survival. The result is a power hungry system. There are some who disagree with this offensive realism theory like my flatmate, Sissi for example. But you shouldn't listen to her because she is a Finn. Anyway...buy this book and check it out.

Great book, it met my expectations and focused on my areas of interest. Very relevant today, as national interests play major role in international relations, as we see in every day

Para quem estuda Relações Internacionais, essa é uma obra absolutamente fundamental. Certamente está entre as obras indispensáveis de ler de cabo a rabo para compreender o ambiente internacional.

This book provides crucial historical information that has been grounded in theoretical principles and that is what I like about it. I uses it as academic reference source in my international relations studies.
