John Mearsheimer is one of the best. This book covers realism in the International Relations model and, even if you prefer the idealism method, this is how the main actors impose their authority and always have. Understanding this will allow you to see the various conflicts ongoing from a clear perspective - and allow you to understand how media, NGOs, losing parties and Governments frame things from an idealistic “ally vs enemy vs ideology vs emotion” perspective.

The best book , true & honest book about how states & politics really works. Highly recommended!

I found this book to be easy to read and really informative on the realist perspective in International Relations.

Excellent book

Well done John Mearsheimer and the realist school.

I now study Geopolitics at University because of this book. Absolutely fascinating insight into the world of political decisions. The theory in a nutshell is this: Countries all work for their own benefit for survival. The result is a power hungry system. There are some who disagree with this offensive realism theory like my flatmate, Sissi for example. But you shouldn't listen to her because she is a Finn. Anyway...buy this book and check it out.
