Flawless performance in prod so far
I've had this in production (home lab/NAS) for ~6mo and it's been chugging along in proXmoX and TrueNAS with zero issues. I don't know what more to say. It didn't require any out of box firmware rewrites, just an update to make my sensibilities feel better, and I did strap a 40mm fan to the heatsink since it's sitting in a standard tower case rather than a noisy rack box.

Blew me away
I am fairly new to homelabs and running my own servers so I had no idea about these little tools. I was wracking my brain trying to find how I was going to plug all the drives I needed. This was my solution. I will be buying bigger ones in the future to accommodate more drives as I plan on having around 20 drives for my main storage. If you're on the fence, just try it!

Failed shortly after installation. Poor design
Worked for a few days, hope it didn’t destroy my $3600 SAS drives. Not too sure why this particular card failed in such a short time. The card does run hot. When the card worked, it worked just fine in an unraid setup on some 15GB Samsung SAS SSDs. After light uses, it failed. There is a spot under the heat sink where some SMD components can touch the heat sink and short, possibly vibrations could have caused this, poor design.

Rock solid for UnRAID
Just leaving a note that if you need a rock solid controller for Unraid, this will do the job. I needed to replace an older controller (different brand) that was continually giving me errors. I installed this new one and cabled up all 8 drives and Unraid recognized them with no issues. Started array and all errors gone. Everything has been running great for over a month now. If I need to add more drives I will just purchase another one of these cards.

Thermally throttles in desktop.
The heatsink is too small. Replaced thermal paste and got a little better performance. I do have an extra fan just for this card. Replaced with true LSI card and the difference is night and day. No more throttling and even faster speeds. I will also admit that this was installed in a desktop unraid setup. A true server with constant blowers might give this adequate performance.

Rapid boot time.
This card recognized drives very quickly when booting compared to my old SuperMicro card used on another computer. Went from minutes to seconds.

Works perfectly for proxmox use
Perfect plug and play for proxmox, plugged it in and it came right up no problem

Works great for my unRAID server
I just built an unRAID server and needed additional SATA ports. I installed this on an MSI motherboard and my drives were immediately recognized and my transfer speeds are good. I'm currently only using four SATA connections so I have an additional four for expansion if I need them. So far my experience has been positive and plug-and-play so I would recommend this HBA card.

Not sure why, but this card doesn't illuminate. BIOS takes very long to post, I hear the drive spinning up then shutting off immediately. Looks like the firmware is corrupt. Returned it.
