G-10 is woven fiberglass soaked in an epoxy resin and then compressed and baked. It is very dense, lightweight, and impervious to water. Makes for a very tough and durable handle material.

Excellent alternative
I bought this pair of G10 scales to make wider the handle of a SCHF59 (Schrade), despite I don't had experience I took a Dremel, drill and some sandpaper (600-800). Leaving the scales at its original size I got a good result, but I was looking for to not alter to much the original look, so I sanded all the scale almost til the half and that outcome made me happier.I like the product, the variety, the shipping speed (very fast, it arrived 2 days earlier) and the customer attention.
