Best Ferro Rod i have EVER used!
Work exactly as mentioned... Nice blade edge to spark the rod (many others i have used have been rounded or flat edged which need a LOT to get the rod sparking).This rod even starts working (slightly) even before the paint is scraped - This is the main issue *noobs* have... they think ferro rods don't have a protective coating. This coating is to protect against the air and elements (which over time can actually impede the use of the rod, and render it useless - So DO NOT scrape ALL of the paint off! Only scrape what you need)Also the built in Jute Is very handy for tinder in emergency situations! - Would definitely buy again when more are in stock

I don't need to start very many fires, but I take this with me every time I go camping and it has not failed me.

Just as advertised
may need to sharpen metal stick a bit, have to hold it at just the right angle to get it to bite and shower sparks, but really good overall.
