The Jollytronic is suitable ONLY for new & existing Bottom Supply close coupled cisterns with 2" OUTLET in bottom of cistern and existing flush button in top of cistern NOT in the front or side.

Q: Can you temporarily disable the sensor for cleaning purposes or do you have to put up with it flushing a few times while you're cleaning it?

Yes, you can simply unplug the sensor.

Q: Works well but my sensor range is only about 2 inches (5 cm). Is there a way to tune or improve this? I am using brand new Duracell batteries.

I will advise not to change it. You do not want to experience "ghost" flushing especially in the middle of the night.
