These magnets are VERY strong... it's hard to pry them apart! They do come with a plastic spacer between each magnet which makes separating them easier. I bought these to use with my Ring alarm system as an alternative to the magnet in the contact sensors used for doors and windows. This allowed me to use this magnet instead of the ring magnet with the plastic cover in areas where the cover does not allow the sensor to fit. As you can see in the picture this makes it possible for my double hung window to slide past the magnet so I can arm both the upper and lower sash with a single sensor. The adhesive strips include worked perfectly too. You can also use these as an extra sensor for protecting a window that you want to leave slightly open when arming your system! Great price and worked so well I bought more for my Moms house! You can see in the picture how much lower profile these magnets are than the ones that come with the sensors.

Impressive strength in a small magnet. Outperformed larger, flat magnets. Have not scratched surface. Reasonably priced.

Magnets are nice and strong, and will do the job I bought them for, but the foam tape is a little on the weak side for them, have had a few fail to hold in multiple ways, had the sticky part of the tape fail from the magnet side, the sticky part fail to hold onto the plastic box. And the foam part of the tape fail and separate with the sticky parts still attached to both the plastic box and the magnet. Project. Used 4 magnet's to the plastic base that holds a 20v tool battery. Then the magnet's hold it to the side of a metal toolbox. I added some craft foam strips in between the empty spaces of the magnet's that is just a bit higher than the magnet's. It squeezes down when attached to the metal toolbox, and prevents it from sliding down the toolbox. And yes I did prep and clean both the magnets and the plasticbox, to give the foam tape the best chance to adhere. Will just have to get some heavier duty type tape.

I don't even waste my time and money on run-of-the-mill magnets anymore, since discovering how strong a neodymium magnet is. (Just don't let 'em pinch your skin!) These arrived in their own compact container, packed in a much bigger box the size of my standard oblong mailbox. They have to ship them in a big box so they don't stick to everything metal that's nearby. Anyway, these little magnets are very powerful. They have very strong holding power, and are a very good price. I'm going to sew these into the side and bottom hem of a pair of sheer curtains that I'm using as a "screen" to keep tiny flying insects out of my camper. These magnets will draw the curtains back together after we open and step out of the camper. I don't use the adhesive stickers with this project because I'm sewing them into the fabric's hem. The package of 12 cost $8.49; that's .71 apiece, which is a very good price for neodymium magnets.
