This product is not a direct fit for the Honda Recon TRX250. Hence the reason they give you a new shift cable because the OEM needle valve doesn't fit into the new carburetor. The shift cable is also too long and will not work even with the supplied carburetor. I actually damaged my thottle lever installing the new cable. As for the carburetor, the OEM carb has all hose fittings on the left side, this after market carb has them all on the right side. So your fuel and vacuum line may come up short. Instead of returning this carb, I basically used it as a rebuild kit. Do yourself a favor and buy a rebuild kit because the internal parts on this carb are of poor quality.

So, the throttle cable is too long for the distance from the Carb to the throttle lever. There is not enough adjustment to take up the extra slack. However, you can't use the original cable as the fit up to the new carb is a different size.

The product details/description is misleading. The provided new throttle cable housing is about two inches to short, and will not work on this ATV without modification. Was able to fabricate an extension for the cable housing, but the new cable is not near the quality of the original. Once carb was installed, ATV runs well. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Carb works great. This is not a direct replacement for the Honda TRX250. You have to modify the old throttle cable in order to use the carb. The cable that is furnished is about 3" to long and will not work. Overall worth the money, just realize you will have to modify the throttle.
