Excellent. Vehicle detection [was] thoroughly broken
Latest: Bumped up to 5 star. With the latest firmware (direct from website as auto updates didn't work for me at all) these cameras (I bought 2) have really settled down. They are remarkably consistent with virtually zero erroneous detections (virtually zero because magpies and cats do have a habit of setting off the people detection! I can forgive that one as it's fairly rare for me). 99% of the time, if my phone pings an alert, it's a person or vehicle arriving or leaving. Spiders don't seem to build webs over the cameras either - with the old cameras, I'd be regular having to brush webs away. Night vision is great - given the budget price. I think it's a slight shame the resolution is not amazing but for the price it's good. I don't use the lights on these cameras at all and have full colour vision all night due to the ambient street light. I suspect this should be saving some power as we don't need infrared illumination all night long. Edit: So, it seems that Reolink's automatic updates setting is broken. The cameras report that they are up to date yet there is new firmware available for them if you go directly to their website and download it manually. It's well worth doing this as it really does seem to improve the vehicle detection to the point where it is reasonably stable. What a shame the cameras aren't picking up their own update! The cameras are now performing well for a pair of budget IP cameras. Old review: Either Reolink need to update the firmware on these cameras or stop advertising them with motion detection as it plainly doesn't work. I bought two of these cameras and have tried turning down the sensitivity until it is (now) off for detection of vehicles. Both cameras overlook my drive. Both cameras generate massive amounts of false notifications of vehicle movements on my parked cars to the point where I have turned the sensitivity to off on both cameras. Thoroughly useless. The night time vision is excellent in colour - we have street lighting close so I don't need to use the extra lights from the cameras. I have SD cards in each camera to save motion clips but have just noticed that the last visitors were not picked up by either camera. Luckily I have a Synology NAS box with a twin camera license so will be using that to record the video streams for motion capture or both cameras would be going back to Amazon. Wish I'd spent the money on Unifi cameras now!

Great little night vision camera!
A very good camera with excellent night vision! I would advise however that you have a little ambient light somewhere in the vicinity of the camera range as it helps immensely with night vision. I have never used the spot-lamp setting as I have some outdoor lighting close by and this has given me the added advantage of keeping the camera fairly covert in use. As such, I have caught intruders off guard and unmasked as they haven't spotted the camera in the dark! The picture quality is excellent for short range use, say for your garden or front drive but isn't really suitable if you want to see further afield. You can of course, digitally zoom the picture but the quality is soon depleted. At the end of the day, it is what it is and if you want a decent camera for the area immediately outside your property, then this unit is perfect! I doubt you will find a better night vision camera.. :-)

Great night time performance but details are affected
Great performance at night as long as there is some background light. The details at night do get lost somewhat so don't expect license plate readability. It's not the highest MP but I expected that. But I'd much prefer a natural looking video to that of IR which to me is probably just as bad in term of detail. But for my use case, it has enough detail to capture people, clothes etc that venture into our property. The auto detection of people, pets and cars work extremely well.

Cx410.Well build solid construction very clear
As tech moves on I decided to upgrade the cameras on the house and stayed with the reolink set up. Genuinely really happy and impressed with the overall vision especially at night. The first picture is of the night vision with the spotlight off. Really good colour and clear. The area is very dark at night. 4mp is lower than the Rlc-810 I replaced, but easily as clear with more features like the two way audio and alarm. And If I'm being honest, the Rlc-1212A is really poor in comparison which is a 12mp camera! It's very good in the day but so grainy and misty at night even when you use the spotlight or infrared lights. 1212A camera just really lacks the vision at night compared to this cx410. Second picture is the 1212a at night with infrared and all the settings adjusted to try and gain a better image....fail in my book. 3rd picture is colour night mode, very average. Cx410 camera for the money is definitely a good buy in my opinion

Finally Reolink have released a full colour night vision camera that can operate without spotlights!
After watching a popular Youtube rave about this camera, I just had to purchase one to try for myself. Direct replacement for a Reolink Lumus wifi 1080p, this is a POE camera so I had to wire it up. Well, the results are amazing - not only can it capture at 25fps, but full night colour even without the spotlights! It's managed to capture birds and foxes which are identified as 'pets' - Reolink have provided the option to restrict object sizes in their app so I can easily filter out the birds! Smart AI detection also tries to identify people, as well as cars and there's more filtering options besides the usual grid display to section off areas to disable motion capture. I was concerned that the 2k (2540 x 1440 resolution) wouldn't be a significant improvement over my 1080p lumus, and was considering just going to 4k with something like a 810A (I've done my research), however this has proven not to be an issue - it's much clearer than the Lumus but the killer feature is definitely low light/night time colour capture which can operate with the spotlight disabled. Registration plates on cars I found are readable at night if the headlights/tail lights are off (essentially stationary cars) - I suspect you'd have to spend significantly more to be able to get that kind of clarity. For my use case though, at the front of my house with street lights a few doors down, this is a significant improvement. I'm currently operating this with a 64GB Micro SD card for local storage of events. ONVIF stream is available if you prefer to record to an NVR. In short, a worthy upgrade at a decent price!

Prachtig kleurenbeeld snachts.

Tagsüber super helles farbenfrohes Bild ohne Zusatzbeleuchtung.

The 1.0 aperture with 1/1.8 sensor ensures sufficient light comes in for great night time view. The spotlight and motion detection works well. 30 FPS is great. 2K resolution is pretty good. The 2 way communication works as intended. The field of view is not enough for my liking which is Horizontal: 89° Vertical: 46°. H265 is missing, so higher bandwidth required. A lot to like and less to dislike.
