Excellent Quality, Excellent Value!!!
I bought this for a 50th High School Reunion. The venue was a DoubleTree Hotel (also excellent, BTW, in Newark, CA). The room was approximately 30' X 120', and we put the speakers in the front of the room, meaning the sound had to travel the entire length of the room to be heard by those in the back. This system worked perfectly and was perfectly suited to such an application. We did not use the stands which were included in this package, nor did we use the remote control, so I can't speak to that aspect of the ensemble. Rather, we put the speakers on top of high top tables draped in cloth to elevate them for better sound coverage, and of course to improve the elegance of their appearance. I used my iPhone 6 and employed my paid Spotify subscription to use a 60s playlist for most of the evening; special requests were easy and of course this is essentially what a DJ does these days. You can either speak over the music with the included mic, or pause the music using your phone or the pause button on the back of the "active" speaker--the other "passive" speaker has no electronic controls, and is merely connected to the active speaker with an included cable approximately 20 feet in length. BTW this is NOT a stereo setup, simply two speakers providing very high quality mono sound. You can really crank up the volume on these without distorting the sound quality. Caution: If you use a cell phone/music app/bluetooth, DO NOT walk out of the room with your phone in your pocket or the music will quit when you get out of range or have too much interference between you and the receiver. There are multiple ways to connect various devices to the system; I employed Bluetooth. It was flawless. The system was delivered on time (actually a day early) in excellent condition. It was well packaged. However, if you intend to ship these after use, you must keep all of the packaging materials; the boxes inside the master carton are not adequate to protect the system without the rest of the packaging materials. At $210 delivered, I left this system with a Classmate in California--they would not have survived the return trip home to Florida in the belly of an airliner. If I ever need these again I'll buy another set. I'm not sure I could rent a system of this quality for a weekend for this kind of money. These are a bargain at twice the price. They are constructed of very heavy duty plastic materials, have wheels to allow you to roll them, but at 10-12 pounds each with built in handles on the top and side of each speaker they are easily transported and very durable. The control panel has been improved over that pictured on Amazon--spend some time learning to adjust the sound, as it is possible to preset the mic volume and the speaker volume independent of the master volume. There is also an FM radio receiver built in to the active speaker (the one with the electronic control panel). Earlier reviews indicated the mic had good sound quality but was poorly constructed using plastic materials. The manufacturer must have upgraded to a better mic as ours was quite durable and seemed to be all metal construction. It was actually heavy, very durable and provided excellent sound quality. I really have nothing negative to say about this system; I don't know what I could recommend to improve it. I'm serious when I say it would be a good bargain at twice the price. I would definitely buy it again. As an aside, last weekend I attended another, larger reunion and they too put the speakers on high tops, although in the center of the room. It was an older, far more expensive system provided by a professional DJ. The speakers were bigger and obviously had been in use for quite awhile. They were no better than these in any way that I could tell.

Wow, Just WOW!
I was somewhat skeptical about this due to the relatively low price but having plugged it and test driven it, I am blown away. Have been DJing for over 20 years now, have used Nady Ensemble 4180 PA system and Peavy speakers through a Behringer Mixing Board with American Audio Amplifier. But for the price and ease of set up and the sound quality of this one, I don’t know why I limped along my almost dead Nady (in it’s defense, it’s over 20 years old) for so long. Everything was packaged securely, the speakers are light enough, even the active one. Plug in, connect the Speakon cable, pair bluetooth (effortless) and hit play and man I was blown away. Separate Treble and Bass, the Bass at 3/4 was enough and I could only get the system up to half volume in my living room for fear of getting complaints from our next door neighbor. For the price and ease of use, and convenience, I don’t think you could find a better system for a small to medium sized hall, outdoor event, etc. The remote worked well, max volume on the remote is only up to what you have the master and line in volumes in set to on the back so you don’t have to worry about going too loud. I have only just received this system and played two songs, one with heavy bass and so far I have nothing bad to say about it! Haven’t tried the other music sources yet, SD Card, USB, Line in but I have no doubt they will work flawlessly too. I was faced with renting a PA for an upcoming event due to my Nady finally giving up (Right channel was completely out) and rental was going to be over $100 for a four hour event. So bit the bullet and ordered this one. If you have any PA needs and don’t need to broadcast outdoors more than 150 feet or so, I don’t think you can go wrong with this one. I usually don’t rewrite reviews unless I am really happy or really unhappy. Most things seem to work as you imagined. This one is fortunately a happy review and I am ecstatic over this one! A++++++ Proreck!

Excellent Value
For the price I don't think you can do better than these Proreck speakers. They are easy to set up, sound decent, have good bass and get the job done. However, the sound is somewhat punchy which is understandable given the low price. If you want your audience to be blown away with rich, clear, thumping sound it is unfortunately necessary to invest in a more premium system like JBL, Bose, etc. I've also listened to Alto speakers and they also sound pretty impressive and are somewhat cheaper. Follow-up comment - I use a Traktor controller with no external mixer. After a lot of fiddling around with the controls, I set the treble to -3 and the bass to +2 and it sounds pretty good! Not like something a lot more expensive, but definitely decent especially for this price. Glad I bought them!

Best for Value priced speakers with stands
Very pleased with these speakers and stands! Packaging was excellent and protective. I do a little KJ'ing (karaoke jockey) around town and substitute for a couple when they have out of town singing engagements. The speakers I previously used were quite old and very underpowered for the restaurants where I was running the karaoke. I heard more than one complaint that the speakers were not reaching the back of the audience. I went though everything I could find on Amazon that was under $300, and the Proreck Party 12 had the best review to price point that I found. I took these to the two karaoke gigs last week and everyone said they sounded loud and great. Glad I bought this set! I kept all the packaging and store everything back in the original box until my next event...works out fine and keeps everything in one neat/clean place. I do not use the microphone that came with the set (I use wrieless instead), but did test it out and it worked fine.
