Nothing says old world charm quite like a straight razor. From old military movies to John Wayne to Sweeney Todd, the straight razor has enjoyed a long and storied history. Yes, it will make you that much cooler to shave with a straight razor, but there are some real world benefits to shaving with a Throat Cutter straight razor. First, the shave is much better than with a cartridge razor. This is somewhat hard to quantify, but the first time you use a straight razor you will understand what I am talking about. The shave is just done right. Second, you can kick those crappy cartridge razors and their awful razor burn to the curb. The side benefit of this is that you will save a boat-load of money (literally a boat-load). Our straight razors will last you a lifetime. Lastly, you will turn shaving, normally a dreaded task by most men, into a conscious and almost meditative practice. If that isn’t enough to get you to want a straight razor, the quality and craftsmanship of these Damascus steel throat cutter razors will send you overboard. Made of 264 layers of 1095/15n20 steel and hand ground to a razor's edge, the Throat Cutter is a piece of art. Every time you lather up your face you will be thrilled with the quality and heft of the Throat Cutter Damascus Steel Straight Razor. * Overall Length: 8.25” * Handle Length: 5.25” * Blade Length: 3” * Blade Material: Damascus Steel 1095/15n20 * Blade thickness: 4mm * Damascus pattern: Swirl * Number of layers: 256 * Grind: Half Hollow * Handle Material: Solid Wood Please note: Each razor is handmade from natural materials and there will be some variation in color, handle and overall look. Please handle them accordingly.

Below expectations.
The steel is so far quite good but did not come ready to shave with, it required a solid hour of rezoning and stopping before it could passably shave. The polymer washers that allow the blade to pivot are subpar and offset so the blade wiggles and leans left. The screws that hold the scales in place came broken and I had to replace them to keep the whole razor from falling apart, I plan to replace the washers with a better fitting bronze phosphor set. The handle in fact is not "solid wood" but a subpar composite micarta with a misaligned grain pattern and poor polish. The Damascus steel isn't half bad but trusts easily without an oil coat.
