The Best of ZZ Top

One of my first vinyl records of1978! I'm so glad I repurchased this, reminds me of good times! Great choice of songs, a must for any Rock n Roll fan.

Quite simply, it’s a great album. One that can be played several times a week and never gets old. To me these are the best ZZ Top songs ever recorded. Sure it could have a few others like It’s Only Love and I Thank You, but I can’t stress enough how much I love to crank this up alone or when company comes over. Never fails, someone always says it “man this album rocks!”

I'm biased, but I've always preferred ZZ Top before they grew their beards long and started making more commercial, polished music.This is ZZ Top at its raw, early 70's best. Every time I play this CD I can see myself driving down a dusty Texas desert road in the summer heat.This is still the best ZZ Top "best of" and has the best sound too.

It's a vinyl record of greatness to play throughout my home...

Works great. Bought it for my brother who has an old truck

Compared the sound of the songs duplicated on the newer 2006 "Tres Hombres" remastering and though this one has the original sound (not the echoey overly crisp and bright '80's sounding mix), its overall volume has been reduced by about 6-10 decibels with an overall flat timbre listening with the same treble, bass and volume settings on my home stereo amp as with the 2006 "Tres Hombres". IOW it just doesn't have the same beefed up fuller sound. You do have to EQ the bass response.It's not a deal breaker, but from my experience trying to crank up similarly styled '80's mixed for flat sound CD's (i.e. The Very Best of Hall & Oates) usually produces clipping in the bass regions.Hopefully later on Rhino will re-issue this one and use the same remastering as they did on 2006 "Tres Hombres". Or maybe I don't really have the newer 2004 version because my copy (UPC code: 8122-76470-2) of the "The Best Of ZZtop" doesn't show 2004 copyright or the Rhino name anywhere on the CD or packaging. But then 2006 "Tres Hombres" doesn't show the Rhino name but it does show 2006 printed on the CD.I give up.

This album looked like it was brand new. Highly recommend.

I received this package today" I'm playing to whole album on cd player best of zz top sound like the original from cassette tape it sound real good. I remember that album when I was a teenager alot of memories.it is classic album the best of zz top.

Commande faite chez Amazon et je n'ai pas reçu celui du label Rhino Records comme indiqué dans le descriptif mais de chez la Warner.Sur le coup, grosse déception mais en regardant de plus près, je ne vois pas indiqué "Remastered".Quel satisfaction en l'écoutant, "Just got paid" sans réverbe la guitare est bien présente et sur "La grange" la grosse caisse n'étouffe plus la ligne de basse bien audible, sa groove !!J'aimerais bien écouter la version du label Rhino Records (si elle existe), s'il y a une différence car je ne peut pas dire si c'est le master original ici mais en tout cas bien mieux que les albums Remastered de la Warner.Coup de gueule pour Amazon, il est temps de mettre de l'ordre sur ce site. L'ASIN n'est pas fait pour rien !!!Si on ne peut pas faire confiance au descriptif, je ne sais pas si je continuerai à commander chez vous.
