This is what it takes to get from a perfect shot to an equally perfect print.
A real joy to read, with lots of examples and clean text. It explains in detail the very basis of shot taking and it relates it to the final outcome, the print. It will help you get to the perfect negative. Perfect means by what you expect to have in your final print. It will help you get consistency in your processes and make it easy to get to the desired result.Highly recommended for everybody that just does not simply point and shoot.

A great book from a master of photography
This is a great book for everyone who wants to learn and apply the zone system (I guess that this is the 'Bible' of the books that cover the zone system). It is very well written and though it seems a little bit outdated (it was written on the 'film days'), in it you will find all the principles and information you need in order to 'visualize',as Adams puts it, before you take the shot even with a digital camera. The rules are applicable with every camera.Read and enjoy!!

This is one of the classics of photography. If you shoot film you really need it. I you shoot digitally you should read it as so much applies.

tedious but essential reading
The author picks his words very carefully and does not waste any; there is no light relief whatsoever. Still, if you want to learn a hell of a lot about photography, you just have to sit down, read the book slowly and carefully, listen to what's being said, and reap the enormous benefits of sharing the experience of a master. It's hard work, but unmissable.
