HEARTLAND: A HEARTLAND XMAS DVD

Watching this episode on UpTV around 2012 led me to Heartland, which is a Canadian TV series. Because it is shown on the CBC Network, we in the States have had problems being able to find or watch current episodes (and must wait or find ways to view it). It is currently in its 11th Season. I've purchased all years dvds because it is that good and is a keeper. Heartland Christmas was shown in Season 3, and is pivotal to a major plot in Season 8. So...if you are or become a Heartland junkie or binge watcher, and haven't watched Heartland Christmas, curl up on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate and escape to the Canadian Rockies, the story of Ty and Amy, and enjoy. But beware, Heartland addiction is probable, and you must start at the beginning with Season One to get the full effect.

This Christmas special takes place in the middle of season 4 of "Heartland", however, it can just as easily be a stand alone movie. If you have seen the show before, you will have some insight into the characters history and their own nuances, but you can just as easily watch without having any idea that there even is a TV show. This is essential viewing for regular show viewers, as some of the characters and events from this movie will appear/be referred to in later seasons.Anyway, this is a sweet story about a family and a community dealing with different struggles associated with the season and winter hardships. If you like horses, Alberta, or family dramedy, you will enjoy this film.

This is the movie shown in the middle of Heartland Season 4. Loved this series since I discovered it back in 2011. Perfect family show or for any horse lover! Highly recommended!!! I’m in the U.S. and had to have the Original (Canadian) version.

On Netflix, this is added within the 4th season, but not included in the 4th season on DVD. So when I got the collection I found out this was missing I had to get it to complete the series. It is a great movie that has a lot of what makes the series great.

Love Heartland. A nice Christmas episode from early on in the series. A fine family series and one I have all the seasons of. I found this series late they were already in season 7. I love this show. Well done all the way around from acting, writing , directing, costumes, scenery, animals you name it. Well done and bravo.

Great series, great story line, something the whole family can watch. The scenery is absolute some of the best I've ever seen. Great characters and their development, never a dull moment.

Awful movie that is 90% arguing, bickering, feuding, quarreling, and complaining. The other 10% is about Christmas decorations. No real mention of Christmas or the meaning of it. Unlikable adult characters. And dead and dying horses. Yuck. Occasionally there is some nice scenery with snow.

This is a great family movie. These characters never fail to entertain me; they are terrific. I have shared this movie, and the series, with several of my friends and they all just fall in love with them. My pastor and his grand-daughter are watching them now and think they are great, too.

I have been hooked on Heartland since series one and have now bought and watched the full collection up to series five. I looked on Amazon and noticed the "Heartland Christmas" which is obviously a one off special and a must have. It was delivered several days earlier than estimate in plenty of time before Christmas. I watched it a few days after Boxing day and it really added to the Christmas atmosphere in our house. This extended episode with a festive themed story was really entertaining and once again showed Amy Flemmings love of horses as she leaves with Ty at Christmas to rescue some horses that are trapped in the path of an Avalanche. The story keeps you stuck in the chair from start to finish. Heartland just gets better each episode with the quality of acting improving with every episode and the locations in Alberta are breathtaking. Once again I can't understand why this show is rarely aired on E4. I think I have only seen series one and yet it is shown at a prime slot in Canada and the USA and is a massive hit. I am an older male viewer who just can't wait for series six. You must buy this to add to your collection. Simply the best TV ever to come out of Canada.

We have watched the Heartland series on TV and when I saw this, I thought must buy it. Usual Heartland quality. As horse owners we loved this film and will watch it again and again. Prompt delivery and well packed.

A really good festive episode and a must for those who watch the series as it ties in later to another episode that didn't originally make sense to me until I realised I d watched all the series and not this special one. A great series and a lovely episode. I would highly recommend it!

Great movie series! Quality movie to cuddle up with my horse loving daughter to watch.

Sat and watch this film, loved the story, picture was clear and the sound was very good. Good christmas film to watch.
