Background knowledge is that my MacBook has only two USB ports and one SD port that I use pretty often for use with cameras and connecting devices, this slender USB hub really frees up a lot of space for me to work with more devices as well as creating a way to transfer data between two SD cards simultaneously. So far no problems with the hardware or firmware.

I need this USB hub because the newer computers with everything connected to the monitor only holds so much space for USBs. With this, I’m able to plug in all of my gadgets as well as have my presentation remote and projector plugged in. It also has a card reader. It was a sweet addition because I can upload my photos just using this hub

I use my laptop very regularly as part of my job so I thought 5 ports wouldn't be enough. But only after using it for a short while I found out it's all I need. This is the best, all around hub I have used for my laptop. Many thanks.
