Love this product. Where I live the water comes out the tap smelling of chlorine. Completely undrinkable. This makes it delicious and clean.There is a slightly herb-y taste (from the teracotta), but it's a lot better than chlorine! My family quite enjoy it.

I would really love to like this filter. I've had it since Christmas and despite trying a number of things cannot get rid of the unpleasant taste that the filter adds to the water. Real shame, as I like the actual unit, but so far, it hasn't been fit for purpose.

Took months for the taste and smell of the pot to leave the water changing it twice daily for 2 months and then using it all in one day and replemishing the water - around 4 months for the water to taste normal.It looks the part- but when you fill the top bit and try and lift it on top of the bottom bit - its heavy and SLIPPY - it has not handles - which it shouldfor safety reasons as if it fell on your toes it would break them - or on your baby or dog etc ... also... as the tap is not at the bottom you re left with around 2/5ths of the water mass unable to drain out of the tap into your container. Same with top one - you screw in a stone filter that is totally raised about where the water drops through - so you end up with around 2/5ths of the water you put in just laying going stale under the actual filter. If you top up daily this is not an issue to be honest but if you top up only weekly - not so great.the container is made of pot / clay but the bottom and the lid are just plastic - like a plant pot - bit disaapointing.the tap has a small and slow stream of water - I end up usually just lifting thetop bit off and tipping it into my container from the base.It looks nice but not practical particularly. The water does not taste soft either - it still tastes like tap water once in your glass - perhaps that is how it is supposed to taste ? I dont know.I would buy it as a gesture for someone and to look nice in the kitcen and for summer time as the pot keeps the water very cool - but wouldnt pay the same price again for it - should be reduced in cost to reflect issues OR the issues need to rectified.

Love this water purifier and it does an excellent job but beware the replacement cartridges are almost impossible to obtain if you're in the UK. Fortunately we found a local supplier that makes a compatible alternative and very reasonably priced - [email protected]

I grew up with these filters and already knew of all the qualities. This one is just as good as the ones I've known all my life.Don't be put off by tge initial taste: ypour persistence will pay off after about 3 weeks of curing the filter. Use the water for other things whie you wait.

Very pleased! The water tastes terracotta at the very beginning but after a while it’s fading.

The water cartridge purifier candle is over 10 years old.Not working properly. Not right , selling an item, not checking it before send it to a customer..

Im still in the process of reviewing this really having had it a couple of months. It took quite a while before the unpleasant taste went - I tried rubbing with sugar as posted by other reviewers but its ok now. Im having a big problem with mould around the rim which also gives the water an unpleasant smell and taste. I keep wiping it but it keeps returning. I presume its filtering out the other nasties in the water.
