Does the job well
Bought this as I have already have a UV filter in my pond which have proven very effective and thought I would get one for aquarium.This unit is working and filtering the aquarium water very well keeping tank crystal clear.However, I would not purchase again and now question my choice as replacement 4W UV bulbs seem to be unavailable so once UV bulb fails will have to purchase a different unit.As others have mentioned there is no visible indication to show UV is working and instructions poor.Addition to above.I have been using this filter for six months now, it has kept the tank crystal clear and I have not had to clean the glass at all. Initially I was concerned that replacement UV lamp could not be found but, from this supplier I have been able to purchase a replacement.I have now purchased another of these filters for a different aquarium and that is working well. When I remove the unit to clean the sponge I turn it on for a second without looking directly at the lamp and can see that it is working.

Brilliant product

Great when it worked!
I was very pleased with this uv filter until it stoped working after just 51 days.

Excellent
Brilliant filter. Sorted out algae problem in a week! You can see in photos after 24hrs and after 1 week! Now we only have to turn it on once a week overnight to keep the water crystal clear. Highly recommend

Nice item ,but unable to get replacement bulb
To remove from the tank the suction cups stay fixed to the tank ,,then have to be removed and reattached to the filter . Cannot see them lasting long . Insulation is easy . The idea is good .easy to clean but I do not know where to get replacement bulb

Amazing filter
I have a 40litre tank with 2 fantail goldfish,constantly battling green water and algae,after 2 days with this filter the water is Crystal clear and stayed clear.The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is I can't find replacement filter sponges anywhere!.

Impressive results so far
Had filter for 2 weeks and very impressed so far. My tank had suffered from green water and glass even though I was changing water once a week. The water in the aquarium is now clear, as is the glass. Very good value. I ordered replacement filters and UV light when I ordered filter for peace of mind. Having tried numerous internal filters previously(without the UV) , I am very impressed with results so far
