No once I connected it it stays connected unless I put it off myself.

There are 3 types to select from - Roku, Android, or Standard TV. Standard has no smart tv capabilities. Roku and Android are smart versions. Those commenting that it's not a smart tv either bought the Standard version, or didn't connect the other types to their home WiFi for Internet capability.
