I got this kids kettlebell so that my kids could join in with my exercises. They have been trying to join in with actual gym equipment and I didn't want them getting injured. This is a nice alternative for kids. With it assembled, it is very light and functional. If your older children did want a challenge, there is the option to fill each of the discs with water to make it heavier. My son finds this part fascinating.

The bottom rings keep slipping off of the kettle bell. Along with the difficulty completely filling the rings with water, I would definitely keep this item in the category of preschool pretend toy rather than something a burgeoning 6yo fitness buff would benefit from.

My oldest is 15, and he loves to work out. My 2.5-year-old loves to try and workout alongside him. He tries to lift his weights (which he cannot) and he gets frustrated that he can't fully participate. Well, I saw these and knew I had to get them. I filled them with sand from the dollar tree according to their weight listed, and you can't tell my toddler anything now! He has his own set of weights and is back to working out alongside his Bubba! We're very pleased with this set!

We have a home gym, so finding a safe way for my son to be there but not hurting himself on equipment is always a fun challenge. Adding something he can use is a help. It's sturdy, you can adjust the weight, and it's easy to hold. The colors are nice as well. I'm not worried about it coming apart, but we will see with a little more use.

Ok this is too cute. You can actually fill the rings with water to make them heavier. My nephew is really into fitness so I knew he'd get a kick out of this for his own son. I like to have toys at my house for him to play with and he loved stacking and restacking. Of course, he's too young to add any water to it and honestly I doubt he'll use it to work out (I see no need to rush kids into weight lifting of any kind), but it's a fun toy to have around and the adults like taking it apart and putting it together too.

Was easy enough to put together. It says you can put sand or water in it though I'm not sure how confident I am in that. A couple of the hollow plates rattle a little like there's something in there, but that doesn't effect the function. Got it so toddler could feel included when I exercise
