The wool fibers do not retain odor because bacteria cannot find a solid surface to grow on. Australian wool naturally contains lanolin, which has properties, thus making it as well. It is also hypo-allergenic, as is most wool. Our blankets are designed at Creswick Woollen Mills in Australia, which was Founded in 1947 and still operating today. The Hobart Blanket is manufactured using 70-percent recycled Australian Wool and 30-percent Polyester. The wool is recycled from offcuts and textile surplus from blanket production. Pet hair nightmare !!!
I don't recommend this blanket. It attracts pet hair like a magnet. I brushed it..used an adhesive roller on it..and washed it. Washing it ..which the label says you can do...isn't something I would recommend to anyone...You end up with little pilled up balls of wool that separate from the blanket...I telephoned 2 separate dry cleaners and they stated that they are not able to remove pet hair from blankets. They would try...at a dry cleaning cost of $25 plus tax...but, they said trying to get the fur out (which tangles itself into the fabric) is something they also have to do by hand. And, they guarantee nothing.

Charcoal is more brown than gray. But very nice blanket.
Beautiful blanket. Soft and large enough for a king. Charcoal has brown undertones and wasn't as dark as it shown in the photos. So only 4 stars due to poor photos and bad representation of color.

brown charcoal?
This blanket had been returned by somebody... a brown blanket in a charcoal marked torn bag. Wrong color...Returns are a pain.Update...I kept the brown blanket and though I'm still not happy with the color; the thing has not shifted on the bed at all. None, at least with flannel. Hubby only needs it while I have to add layers for my comfort. My layers stay put too. Holding out a star because of incorrect color delivery.

I really like this blanket
I really like this blanket. It is not rough or scratchy - Its actually quite nice and soft for wool. The amethyst color is rich and not faded. It's warm but not too warm - good for 40s and 50s with just a bedspread on top. It's light and easy to fold up. Very happy with this product.

Good quality machine washable blanket
I like wool blankets and this one didn't disappoint. It is not terribly thick or heavy but is quit warm and comfortable. Not very scratchy and is big enough to easily cover a queen sized bed with enough to spare. you can wash in cold on gentle with wool detergent. Another big plus. I plan to get another.

Nice blanket, but not the best
nice blanket, but not as thick as I thought it would be. Doesn't wash all that nicely, it pills. it is soft and not itchy at all.

Heathered warmth
Ordered two washable wool blankets after a search for lightweight, warm blankets. Have a family member experiencing some neuropathy in their feet, who found that heavier blankets were becoming increasingly uncomfortable. Had never been a fan of wool blankets from childhood, but was drawn in by all of the glowing reviews ;) and with this blanket, we must add our voices to the chorus :) It is Truly soft, incredibly lightweight, WARM and Beautiful too! (It is a lovely heathered camel color.) We have not washed it yet, but are quite hopeful that it will fulfill that claim as well.Wonderful product.

Excellent wool blanket
Terrific year round comfort with lighter sheets in the summer and heavy (a zillion thread count) ones or flannels in the cold weather.
