Excellent product, the OEM replacement was just a poor design(...rare for Toyota). So this trim has a steel gusset that supports the burnt of the force from lifting the hatch. Good idea and I hope this makes these people millions because it solves the problem...The paint matches my Pistachio Prius fine.It does take a bit of fitness to install, took me 1.5 hours, and the toughest part was not breaking the INNER trim bolts, not losing parts,( the usual). Highly recommend, watch a YouTube video and swap it out!

Showed up in a completely torn apart box missing all hardware. Luckily I was able to use old hardware. The packaging is completely unacceptable and I would have returned if not for time constraints.

This is a fine product. I found an excellent YouTube video by Michael Gerry on how to replace/fix a broken lift-gate handle. he walks you step by step on how to install. Pretty easy unless your old screws and bolts are super rusted out. Might have to make a run to hardware store if they are.The kit comes with barely any extra parts. Would be nice if it had new nuts for the new bolts. A couple screws for latch mechanism. Rubber washers, mine were rotten and no new ones in kit, so left off.The biggest complaint: it came broken. The pre-installed bolt in a small piece of plastic on the right hand side was snapped off (see images). Thankfully i was able to still install it. But, as you can see in the picture, it does not pull in flush (on right hand side, compare with left) without that bolt. So while it functions fine and definitely doesn’t fall off anymore, like the old one, it does have a small gap. This is annoying, but not annoying enough on this old car to wait around for a replacement, or go through trouble of returning, so I left it. But, it is annoying. I think I’ll get used to it. Not like my rusty old 2007 looks great anyway.Good luck. I love having a tailgate handle that works and isn’t glued on!

I have a 2007 Prius and needed a replacement for the lift handle after the original part snapped off. I went with this part because it was eligible for Prime shipping. Once I got it, I took it to my mechanic who installed it for me (cost for labor was about $70). This replacement works well, matches the color of my car exactly, and feels pretty solid. Hopefully this replacement lasts for a long time.
