Super handy! I use it for keyboard, mouse and webcam to laptop.
It's nice to plug in a keyboard, mouse, and web camera into this hub, and just plug one connector into my laptop. It's priced right and works well.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
it lasted less than two months before it quit working. I took a gamble cause it was cheep and simple. I didn't need anything fancy just some more usb ports. I bought mine on May 18th, it quit working July 3rd. Spend the negligible difference in price on the one you're comparing this one too. You wouldn't even get your money back selling this for scrap metal.

Cord Could Be Longer
It's not a mystery why I bought this, is it? Need more USB ports. Never enough. So.It works. I've had it a while now and it does what I need it to do. It's only used intermittently, mainly when I'm backing stuff up to my external hard drives. I want both drives at once to make sure everything is the same. I do not plug the hard drives into this because I'm afraid it will lose its connection and destroy my hard drive. No idea if my fear is realistic or not but since it adds another potential spot for failure I plug the HDs into my computer and then use this for my mouse, phone, keyboard or whatever else I need. Now that I have it I find the cord is short enough to require planning about where I put my computer so I don't have the hub dangling off the table. Again, I have no idea if that would damage it in any way but I don't want to take a chance.

A few false and misleading pictures of the product on Amazon
Its a hub. It does exactly what a hub is supposed to do. And it does it well. Its is very small and compact to don't expect something large. But there is a problem with one set of photos on the Amazon page. Most of the photos show the hub with a very short cord, seemingly less than 12 inches. But the last set of photos show the USB cable curled up in several loops leading you to believe the cord is about 2 feet long or maybe longer. The truth is the cord is only 6 inches long. If you plug it into a laptop, it will stay close by. If you plug it into a desktop case, it'll probably just dangle down and most likely come unplugged due to the weight of the device and any other cords plugged into it. If you think it might be possible to lay it up and over onto the top of the case, that just won't happen. This would be a 5 star product if it only had 24 inches of attached cable instead of the 6.

Great Little Hub. Does Everything I Need.
Just upgraded to a Mac Mini Pro from my 2012 iMac and find myself with more USB-A cords than the two ports on the Mini. Yes, I could get a bunch of USB-A to USB-C adapters (to use the 4 USB-C/Thuderbolt ports) and I might still do that. But this inexpensive 4-port USB-A hub is a simple and effective solution to my immediate need. I did have an AC-powered USB hub at my previous desk location, but for reasons not worth going into, there's shuffling in our house and for most of the coming year my little desk is setup where the fewer and smaller things plugged into outlets the better.Plugged directly into one of the two available USB-A ports on the Mini, the hub gives me five full-function ports to use -- for anything, as far as I can tell. I don't really understand what a previous reviewer meant when he said "no external power can be supplied." I found the hub provides all the power needed to run two pocket-sized external drives, charge and sync my iPhone, charge an Oontz bluetooth speaker, and power on my new Logitech webcam -- four of those at once. It seems to me the hub passes through whatever power it's receiving from the computer. Your experience may vary. With 4 USB-C/Thunderbolt ports on the Mini, I may not need a hub for that size right away. But if this maker offers a USB-C hub, I'd seriously consider getting one. I may also get a second USB-A hub because there's one convenience feature I should mention: This hub is on the end of a short cord, allowing you to place the hub on your desk, or quickly pull it up from behind your desk, making it very easy to plug things in if you're using a computer with inconveniently located ports.
