Solid build, good quality. Improved 2nd generation light
By way of background: Last year I purchased some Sunspeed rechargeable lights, and whilst the front light was ok, it didn't have the beam width I was hoping for, and under heavy rain a small amount of water got behind the lens cover. Additionally, the rear lights let in water and stopped working.Fortunately, Sunspeed have excellent customer service, and replaced the rear lights immediately. I still had some issues with water ingress, and ultimately Sunspeed offered me a full refund.A year later, and Sunspeed contacted me to let me know that they had a new improved model out.Given the excellent service I received last time, I was happy to give it a go, and ordered them.On arrival, the improved build quality is apparent straight away. The front light is a very solid feeling metal alloy body, with a rubber cover on the underside to keep the USB charging port watertight. The adjustable zoom on the previous model has been ditched in favour of a fixed focus unit, which makes waterproofing easier and throws the beam over a wider area. The handlebar mounting bracket is much improved too, with a worm screw mechanism to fix the bracket to the bar, and a quick release clip to mount and remove the light.I've only had one chance to use it at night yet, but wow it is bright! There are several brightness and flashing modes to select from, should you wish the batteries to last longer.Regarding the rear light, the design has also been improved, and it seems more water resistant. The only downside is that the rechargeable feature has been been removed from the rear lights, replaced by 2x CR2032 coin sized batteries. With my commute, this means a pair of batteries should last me a couple of months in the winter, but I would still have preferred the rear light to be rechargeable, as this was one of the reasons that I was interested in the first set of lights.Overall, I'm very pleased so far. The front light is bright, solid, easily removed and charged and a big improvement on last year's model. I'm looking forward to seeing if Sunspeed can come up with a rechargeable waterproof rear light for next year!

Compact light
On first looks this is a very small and compact light the charge time took 35 minutes to reach fully charged but the light was not flat so it should charge in the time claimed. To fix the light to handlebars is very easy for so many different size handlebars, for some reason it is rotatable 360 degrees not sure why ? On first test the beam is wide and very bright high medium and low plus SOS for off Road I used high or medium but for on road used the strobe setting which will get you noticed. Due to the time of year not sure on burn time but it should be good, rearlight is included in the kit as a free light it utilises 2 CR032 batteries which will last a long time. I could not find any rain so the light went under the shower head for 30 seconds came out working if it survived that it is pretty waterproof, aluminium body and compact styling make this a damm fine light very impressive. On switch will show blue light when 20 to 100% charged and red when charge is less than 19%.

Excellent value for money
I had previously purchased some rechargeable lights from Sunspeed for my bike and was very pleased with them so I purchased these for my son. I am very happy with them, the build quality is excellent, I really like the alloy body over plastic. I took the bike out in the dark over the weekend and the 400 lumens certainly light up the tow paths, in fact I am planning on keeping these lights for myself and giving my son my old ones... I would have preferred the rear light to be rechargeable but with 40 hours battery life it should last me a good few months.

Sunspeed light.
Having had a sunspeed light before (on other bike) I gave this one ago. The light is very well packaged and works really well. The build quality is really good and it's fast to charge. Once attached to the bike it doesn't move at all. Went through the netherton tunnel this morning (nearly 2 miles of darkness) and had no problems seeing where I'm going. (It also got soaked and stayed on no problems). The rear light isn't rechargeable but is a good back up for myself. I'm very impressed with this light.Thanks.

BOTH LIGHTS NEED TO BE USB CHARGEABLE...!
It seems to be a non-brainer that if you want USB chargeable lights that BOTH LIGHTS can be recharged by USB...Not sure why companies like this make a lot of noise about their wonderful front light being USB chargeable and then include a rear light which cannot?
