''Based on the acclaimed memoir by renowned guitarist Andy Summers, Can t Stand Losing You: Surviving The Police follows Summers journey from his early days in the psychedelic 60's music scene, when he played with The Animals, to chance encounters with drummer Stewart Copeland and bassist Sting, which led to the formation of a punk trio, The Police. The band s phenomenal rise and its highly publicized dissolution at the height of their fame in the early 80's was captured by Summers camera. Utilizing rare archival footage, Summers photos, and insights from the guitarist s side of the stage, Can t Stand Losing You brings together past and present as the band members prepare to reunite for the first time in two decades for a global reunion. Great Doc if you're a fan.
Odd, as Synchronicity was my first album from them= and I hated it, lol.All their old stuff is much better. Really cool and fun doc to watch. Regardless of how they felt about it I'm glad they got back together for one last tour later in their lives. Sometimes, people want something so bad- they dedicate all their time and effort TO it. Than they get it and it always feels like God answered your miracle. Than it fades and you take it for granted and than you can't seem to remember what you even anted to begin with and all you want is for it to be done. This is a common human story. It's what happened to this band. It's also what happens to Love. There's nothing worse than spending the rest of your life wishing for a reunion and it never comes. There's came. Mine never did.

Worthwhile for Fans and Others
Although I was quite familiar with the Police, I wouldn’t consider myself a fan. That said, this was very informative and entertaining.I viewed this on Prime, so I don’t know if it is the same on the disk, but the audio mixing and levels were all over the place. I found myself continuously adjusting the volume on my Echo.

Worthwhile for fans of The Police
Andy Summers provides a revealing look into the phenomena known as "The Police." From their early years through brilliant success and eventual breakups, Summers pulls no punches. In this film we see a different side of Summers - introspective, creative, thoughtful. I'm glad I invested the time.

Andy Summers' and The Police.
What I liked about this video is the video footage from The Police concerts, especially the stuff from the 70s.As is common on in a lot of bands, there was definitely a lot of stress. Mr. Summers and Sting had their issues revolving more form personalities clashes than anything else. The Police definitely played very good music. On that note, the origin of the song "Roxanne" was mentioned. One of the surprising aspects to me was the success and great music on their album "Synchronicity" considering the three bandmembers basically recorded from separate rooms and fought over what would be included.Overall this is a very candid tale about Andy Summers as much as it is about The Police. Not really an autobiography but close. Andy Summers was an under-rated guitar player that didn't find fame and success easily. I liked the video.

Great job Andy
Great job Andy. Very honest and insightful. I was sad to see you and your wife were split up due to the obvious demands, but that you're together again, and such mini me's in tow, it was a please to the final outcome, that you're back together. Once the music dies, there's family, friends, and memories, and you have that to be proud of. I became a lead singer in a band, a musician, a songwriter because of The Police, as I was the only kid in my group of friends at the time Roxanne came out, who could hit the notes, "Roxanne". You three have a made a great impact on my life and I'm forever grateful. As this is somewhat of a more intimate look at your career, I soaked up every crack and crevasse. I saw The Police perform when I was a freshman at Arizona State. Thompson Twins and Madness were openers. It was a night I'll never forget. I soon was fronting my own band, belting out Message In a Bottle, So Lonely, Driven To Dears, and yes Roxanne at frat parties with my band. That was 1984. Come full circle to 2007, the year of your reunion tour, and there I am with my new Bride, front and center at Dodger Stadium, ever the loyal fan, screaming my head off once again to Roxanne....and as you pan the audience....there we are, front row....I guess being a loyal fan, one day you get your just due....needless to say Andy, it was a thrill to see your lovely documentary, as it basically took me through my whole musical journey as well..i.e. Your Documentary, double thumbs up! Your Career, legendary! Seeing my wife and I front row at Dodger Stadium, priceless! Thanks Brotha, job well done. Seeing your film was a timeline for my life, as file brought my journey with The Police all into focus and left me no doubt I wasn't blind...you guys will go down in history as one of the greats of all time.......Cheers!!

Extremely Well Edited Look Back on One Person's Career
It's hard to call it success if you're miserable. Andy Summers, the schplang-mixed-with-pizzicato signature guitar sound of the Police talks of his own search for a musical place in the world. He finds it and then tries to hold on to the bucking bull for the next 8 seconds with marginal success.Tons of rehearsal, backstage, early, footage with whip-saw cuts between vintage and contemporary performances. It's interesting to see what choices one is forced to make when it comes to a fulfilling career and a meaningful personal life.In a band, it's not just up to you. You have to decide - with them - how much of your time you are going to spend on capitalizing on hard-won success and demand for your sound. How long will your success be. How much of the effort is the money and how much of it is the creative fulfillment. Very difficult life choices and there's a price for everything. I like the way this film reveals Andy Summers' choices and circumstances.

Belle aventure

like most rocumentary
A brief history of the band. like most rocumentary, it is heavy on the first half of the Police's career. And little of the latter. No live band footage except for some snippets.
